My French trip is looking well dodgy at the moment

While still in Greece on Saturday, I received a text from Jet2 on my Fitbit that began with “we wanted to let you know that anyone travelling to the UK is now required to...” and absolutely shit myself. Turned out it was to tell us that we needed to complete a ‪“Passenger locator form” or we wouldn’t be allowed back in to the country.

Took a fair while to feel in with plenty of repetition of questions in various formats to trip you up along with good old essay length government questions that doesn’t make any sense. What a crock of shit. Didn’t witness a single one even being asked for when we landed back. Complete contrast to the Greeks who were scanning everyone’s QR code and checking temperatures before even reaching passport control. UK really are just playing at it. ‬

Holiday-wise, felt perfectly safe in Greece and certainly passable for the ‘new normal’ all that. Traf pulled it out of the bag with the hotel, absolutely fantastic. Flew from East Midlands and was back at home within 2 hours of touching the tarmac so would certainly consider flying from there again. We stayed in the Travelodge the night before the flight and paid £127 for petrol, hotel and parking, saving £350ish compared to the Manchester flights on the same days.

Have you got a Fitbit?

Greece starting to look a bit iffy?

Can see quarantine on return any day now

They can do it when they want now 🤣

Despite the heat, pretty much every member of staff in every shop, bar, restaurant and the airport were all wearing masks and the social distancing seemed to be much more adhered to than here. If they aren’t doing it right then it isn’t for the lack of effort.

It’s pretty much for decoration. And it’s a hand me down from the other half when she got an Apple Watch so I’ve never actually intended to have one.

Alex and his girlfriend are off to our favourite place in crete tomorrow. He's working from home so a fortnight quarantine won't really affect him but his girlfriend is a nursery nurse.  Oh well!

Bars and restaurants told to close from midnight to 7am on the Greek islands until 23 August

Yes, but NOT because COVID is prevalent.

And NOT ALL islands.

why is it

Id heard reports of a spike

Why the overnight lockdown?

Is it that pisscans dont wear masks?

They've had a rise in cases and they reckon that all social distancing seems to go out of the window late on.
The locals tend to be all tucked up by 12 , so it's to restrict the tourists and protect the locals, who'll they'll mingle with the next day etc..

Hard to argue against any of that.

Were in France now and it’s no wonder the figures are going up, it’s like Covid 19 never happened. We went to the supermarket yesterday it was absolutely packed no social distancing face masks pulled down on loads of people, we did a quick about turn and went home. I can see another lock down here very soon.

Just had an email off easyJet, they've cancelled our flights to Munich in September, going to take the refund.

Where abouts in france?

my mates live in Toulouse and its been pretty strict and controlled there they say.

We were in Belgium last week. Most people stuck to the rules and it was rather pleasant

France teetering on the edge, I’m meant to go in 2 weeks, not looking good

Hopefully they let me move the booking to next summer and we will go to Turkey instead (assuming that’s still ok at the moment)

Workshy fucker

These here fast tracks at the airport - are they worth it at the moment (I know they are only a fiver) or are the airports that empty you are whizzing through anyway?

Been back in UK a week now, but spent most of it up at the caravan, because Rossendale where I live is on the COVID blacklist with 3 active cases in the past month.

What do you need, mate?
