No, I have a habit in real life as well as on the internet of saying what I mean (as nicely and politely as possible wherever I can - I'm not here to offend).

I am well aware of the mass displeasure in his management by probably the majority of fans - particularly as the season progresses - and I am well aware that being sacked is part of the 'game' as a football manager, and that he will be paid handsomely in comparison to most people, when he is sacked but what on earth does it benefit anybody to do it with just two days to go to Christmas, apart from being vindictive towards him?

If he was sacked then someone within the club would take over agreed?

That would either be someone like Parkin from Parkinson's own first team staff, or someone, say such as Lee, who is not associated with the first team directly - agreed?

So he's gone and the new 'interim manager has three days to the next scheduled match - however those days are the Sunday following a game - which is traditionally used as a rest day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  In reality what if anything could the new manager do with the players even if he could get them to turn up without ruining their family Christmases?

Steve Parkin or any other of the first team staff would almost certainly set up the team in the same mind frame of their long time friend and boss - and Lee or anyone from outside the first team staff certainly wouldn't implement any major changes without working with the players first - which of course they are likely unable to do with it being a rest and recovery day today, then Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

So what exactly has anyone achieved - a team playing the next match more or less the same way as Parkinson had them playing?

If you are going to sack the manager then at least give the new manager some time to work with the players before his first game in charge if you want to change things around on the pitch.

It's just plain old common sense really isn't it?

Unless you particularly wish to be spiteful then why deliberately fuck the Christmas of his family and kids particularly (even if you can't give a toss about Parkinson) if you really haven't got the time with the players to change anything but the most cursory of things?

 

 

 

If, for example, he's lost the dressing room and the players are fucked off with or uninspired by him, that alone could be a boost the team needs for the next match

Or it could be enough time to get a decent performance in v Stoke or hull

We've got 3 games in 9 days, 2 of which could really set us adrift of those above us if we lose 

The longer we leave it the harder it could and probably will get

But let's stick with him so he can enjoy the festive period at home

I'm really not sure how sacking him would be seen as vindictive though, unless you think KA has reason for making it personal, because it wouldn't be unreasonable

If anything he's given him far more chance than most managers would normally get, and KA has said himself he's not one to hide from tough decisions

Well I believe I said a little bit more than that and gave a reasonable explanation why there isn't much benefit in sacking him in the next two days anyway but you clearly know better than I what I said or meant.

I think most reasonable people would not go out of their way to sack someone two days before Christmas even if they didn't have a family, if they could reasonably avoid it, but obviously you wouldn't hesitate.

Takes all sorts to make a world though.

I was asking no more than give him two days before he's sacked - when those two days it is highly likely that the players won't be around much to be seen and spoken to by an interim manager if we did go down the route - and no time to do any meaningful training or learning new tactics from him at all before the next game - it is after all Christmas Eve/Christmas Day and not just two normal days at any other point in the year.

Clearly you and Sanchez see it differently to me.

As I've said it takes all sorts.

Hope Parkinson stays for the Rotherham match, wins it 10-0 and we go unbeaten for the rest of the season.

Even then someone would be unhappy about something or other.

All I can say is I presume the players will be training as usual on Christmas Eve and day as they would in the build up to every game

I doubt they will turn out tomorrow in the hope the boss is feeling festive and let's them go he early or anything like that

These are pro footballers after all

As for losing the dressing room, it was offered as an example as to how a sacking today could see a turnaround in performance levels come Wednesday, given they are, or certainly should be, training on Monday and Tuesday

You didn't seem to bothered about footballers not being paid on time because they are well paid, why would you be bothered if a well paid manager lost his job? (Assuming hes been paid)

Anyway

It's all a moot point as nothing will change till we either find a buyer or we go into admin, or we die

If Parky went, it could easily freshen the whole place up, just hearing a new voice. It's not about coaching them into worldbeaters or unveiling a new system, it's trying to kick the players out of the rut we've been in. Two days training is more than enough.

That, and an extra couple of thousand on the gate, could easily be the difference between us beating a Rotherham side who aren't any better than us on paper. Then we might stay up, get £6mil+ extra in TV cash, and everyone can have a happy Christmas next year.

My point was in relation to you saying we shouldn't sack him as it's close to Christmas. Then maybe the added boost of sacking him is lift the mood. 

We looked devoid of ideas on Saturday and whilst our squad isn't brilliant I think it's more capable of what we are seeing 

Our best chance was a header from Alnwick in injury time 

Otzumer doesn't get a chance where as Buckley somehow makes a starting XI and even Noone came on as a sub 

I’m not having it there isn’t a kid or two in the reserves that could contribute something to this team.

When I’ve watched them Connor hall was the best by a country mile and he’s not set world alight at Accy. Reserve team football is shite standard compared to the days we had the central league where seasoned pros turned out week in week out, that was proper learning curve for upstarts.

Who’d have thought Holding would be an Arsenal regular?

I suspect you're right which does beg the question - "Is it worth persisting with our youth set up if we can't find/produce/improve just 1 youngster to play to the appalling standard we're currently setting?"

The Clough and Holding fees should have more than paid for the youth set up costs in Ken's time.It's normal for all clubs to have barren years with  the youth team..I wouldn't just give up because we've had a couple of bad years.

Sometimes young uns do respond when given a chance at a higher level.

I know its not common, but we'll never really know as it doesn't seem parky's way.

It's all about who the manager is. We have had a ridiculous run of managers who simply don't know how to organise a team into being capable of stringing passes together and shooting on target. I don't care if we have zero players on 1st June, just get a manager in like Nathan Jones, Gareth Ainsworth, Kenny jacket, John Coleman, Paul tisdale, Danny Cowley that have proved year after year whatever division, whatever budget that they will get a team playing as a team, scoring goals. Why is it so difficult for a club of our size to attract a real manager?

I was deliberately picking managers from below the championship as the discussion had turned to an assumption we start next season in div 1 so we have to be realistic in who we can attract. But feel free to add other names, they are just examples.

Ishy turned up with the buzz.

Train to Euston,  very quiet.

Embankment and The Bat fleeced at cards. £7.40 each down by Watford.

Princesss , hungover and antisocial till after a morning stroll to Buck House.

The George at Victoria 5/10 for breakfast. ( sometimes its best not to try somewhere differant ).

Tube to Hammersmith.

Billy Morrises place inhabited by cockney Leicester fans. ( strange band wagon jumpers).

Sweden Al lead the way to Chiswick High Street.

£14 for 3 pints of Blitzen.

Buzzz to Brentford. Couple of pints in the Royal ( with some real old faces , escourted by GMP). Then Ash , Crawshawbooth and my good self ended up in the Griffin. Managed to miss most of first half. Had to push against the tide of departing Wanderers Lads to get in the ground.

After the match , proper Dell Boy moment , Embankment ended up on the wrong buzz. But still managed to get to pub in Chiswick before the rest turned up.

Train home unevenfull , but Shark , Ash and Sputnik managed to stay supping in Bolton till 04.30.

Bottom line is.

Away days rule !!!

Hats off to those going to Hull and Bristol.
