Wasn’t even a full ironman! Apparently there’s a couple in a bad way in hospital as well

Just reading, Bolton lad came 2nd - George Martindale. Seems to finish in the top places regularly at these events.

He’s from Horwich. The extra digit on his hands and feet is definitely an aid on the swims.

He's finished 1st at the Bolton one before now.

His company fitted the windows and doors at my parents house (and a couple of houses before that)

It's the webbing that really helps.

Cold water swimming is where it’s at.

Theres a small, rather undiscovered little reservoir up on the moors that is fucking freezing but beautiful.

got to get your breathing right though, or you can look a right cunt. Apparently.

Are you on about Dean Mills Reservoir, AKA  the secret lake at the top of Smithills Dean Rd?

No.

It doesn’t exist.

Ssshh

Loads of pools and reservoirs to take a dip in.

Bloody bonkers thing to do without company/supervision though.

It’s supervised to be fair. Some Bear Grylls type spends most of the time going through the dangers and breathing techniques. They’ve got full first aiders and response kits to hand.

That's not a secret! Mind you I am from Smithills.

It’s taken 9 years, with ups and downs on the way, but now hit my initial target weight loss, of 7 stone.

As @Casinoonce said, or similar, would you be happy to be at the new weight?

Well, happier, but another 2 stone to my weight when in the swimming team at school.

Great effort wither way

What did you start at and has it been achieved just by loads of walking?

Not giving away such detail!

Cut back calorie intake (food and alcohol), and I walk a lot.

Changed habits, really, hopefully engrained now.
