Mine are both runners as you know.

They always talk about warming up and cooling down properly, don’t over-train, watch the miles & rest is absolutely crucial.

Got to wear the right footwear too.

If you want anything more specific then PM me & I’ll ask them.

@Smiley I’m just watching a docufilm ok Amazon called Spine, a near 300 mile ultra race over the Peak District up to Scotland. Is it something you fancy doing 👀

My body wouldn’t cope. But yes, watched that, looks ace!

They do a northbound and southbound. Winter and summer. And varieties of full and half lengths.

Real men would do North then South back to back in the depths of winter.

Tore the cartilage in my knee

Get shin splints

So decide to do cycling

But know I prefer running

So manage it for a bit

Then the cycle repeats itself

Which cycle? The one you don’t like riding or the one which takes you back to running? 🤣

😃

I'll do the cycling for a bit then get bored

So go back to running, then my body says no

So back to the bike

So there are two cycles involved, just in different contexts 😃

Here we go again

Last night was my 12th night drinking in a row so well ready for a break

No ambition for a dry January this year but happy to see where a few days off takes me

Will ease back into exercise next few days and start a proper regime next Monday

Not weighed myself for a while but no doubt it will be around the customary new year 200lb

My aim is to get down to 182lbs having got below 190 last year

I've not had a drink since November now. I wasn't a big drinker by any means - but it's had a profound affect on my mental health (in a good way).

I'm not saying I'll never drink again but I'm not missing it ATM. And I've lost half a stone without trying.....

Basically alcohol is now haram. Alluaha Akbar! 😁

i start the slog tomorrow. i really want a sub 5 hour marathon and that is only happening when the chippy tits get smaller.

Been a bad year for the diabetes so i need to get that back in line.

currently typing with a bad back so who knows how long it will take to get back in working order.

5 mile walk today to clear some cobwebs, too "fat" to run.

People over a certain size really shouldn't run, body just won't hack it long term.

Could you not just type with your fingers instead? You’re bound to have a bad back if you’re slapping it against a keyboard all day

Dunno how folk can live without bread.

Jesus invented that so it must be good for you.

what the fuck do you do when you want toast, or a sandwich, or just some lovely bread?

Starts next week for me. Got a function on at the weekend.

Time to get stripped again. Been out of control since late October. Drank nearly every weekend, pies and bacon all week.

4 abs by first week in March.

Americans talk body weight in pounds. We use Stones.

I can visualise a 15, 16, 17, etc., stone bloke but wouldn’t have a clue what 225 lbs was.
