Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 30, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted January 30, 2019 Wasn't sure whether to put this in the weather thread, but it seems worthy of its own. Absolutely unbelievable temperatures in the US; can't imagine what -30 feels like, let alone a wind chill of -50. Not being able to safely go outside without risking lung injury or frostbite. A bad do indeed.

They weren’t impressed when I said it was -1 on Daubhill Beach and we were in our shorts drinking Pina Coladas

Members bolty58
When I worked for a large corporation in Milwaukee, I had to go twice per year. Once was in winter and it was dodgy flying in and out of General Mitchell due to the minus temperatures, ice etc. We had to go and visit a subcontractor on the shore of the lake and I couldn't believe my eyes. The waves on the lake had snap frozen as they flowed in creating a series of ice steps and the icicles on the telephone wires had frozen at an angle of around 30 degrees due to the wind howling off the lake. Never seen that before anywhere. When I got back to the office, I mentioned it to the lads and the response was "Yeah, normal for this time of year. If you want to experience real cold, go to Duluth, Minnesota. It's the coldest fucking place on Earth!"

That morons who are easily led will buy into the narrative that man made climate change is a socialist/Chinese/illuminati conspiracy rather than something that needs to be taken very seriously. Youri McAnespie
All this must be like a dip in warm seas and stretching out under the sun after a long winter for ex-President George W Bush... The man now seems almost flawless in his statesmanship in comparison. Anyone from over here who 'supports' Trump is merely a stubborn f*cker who can't or won't admit the truth he's an utter orange-faced fuckwit. America's nadir.
