Mental Health/Depression

For those that questioned why I didn’t attend the game last Saturday, this was why. My daughter asked me to go to the Pride parade with her, have a few drinks, a meal, and generally have a catch up on her life and her website project. She doesn’t live with me so I don’t see her that often so face to face time is very valuable

I’ve highlighted one particular part of her social media post from today. That is a nod to WWays. She was stunned by the response from here. I thank all of you that contributed feedback once again for your support.......

As some of you may remember, a year ago I set up a website that allows people to submit and share their personal stories regarding mental health, encouraging people to use their voice and realise that they're not going through this alone.

The response I received was absolutely insane. That insane in fact, that I shut it down after a few months as I couldn't cope with managing the website alongside my own mental health.

But now I'm back 💥 I'm in a better place with my mental health, I'm currently in the process of purchasing my first home, and next week I start my dream job as a Teaching Assistant in a special educational needs school.

So I've decided to relaunch my project. A website where you can anonymously submit your mental health story, in the form of poetry, short stories, song lyrics, or simply anything that expresses you.

Read all 46 pages of this thread last night.  Rang doctors first thing this morning, and got GP appointment.  Now hooked up with referral to a couple of support services.  You don't know me, but

Always tough. I had an amazing childhood but my mum was an absolute cunt the last few years of her life. Doesn’t mean she’s not missed occasionally.

you’ve always got people who you can talk to on here. Best bunch of not rights and weirdos anyone could ask for.

as long as we have bwfc you will never be alone.

Yeah, can't believe I've been on this site since Rivals! Decent people, and a funny bunch as well.

Think it's amazing how many on here habe each others backs.

Just reach out and talk to people.

So..

Reason I posted this on Xmas eve..

BTW please skip this if you don't want to read this type of thing.

Got a carpet cleaner friend, similar age, decent bloke despite being a manc blue. Sent me thousands in work over the last 6 years, sent about the same back.

His business has been really sabotaged, on a scale you wouldn't believe including putting trackers on his van. It's been going on six months, he's fled, he's moved,  he given up on Saturday, tried to hang himself and was stopped, then took the first opportunity to down 60 tablets. He's then posted his suicide note on Facebook. Did all I could to try and get hold of him.

Thankfully his mum got to him amd got an ambulance.

He's been in icu since in an induced coma. Trying to sort out going to see him.

I've spent time chatting to him, phone calls in the middle of the night, he's wanted help from the police, from those that can and he's been let down royally.

Worlds messed up, nhs can't cope, and can't see a way to improve this situation where so many blokes are seeing it as the only way out.

Not sure what you mean that’s going on here? Is it a business rival that’s going at him? Or summat else? Sounds really shit whatever it is

Whilst not trying to lessen the other stuff you’ve told us, I can’t help pondering your point that, “He’s wanted help from the police.”

I’m not sure where help from the police even comes into MH issues.

I live next door to a cop who works in Traf’s manor. We chat a bit over the fence and a lot (probably too much if I’m listening correctly) of his daily work centres around other people’s mental health issues. This means he becomes unavailable to do his job for the duration of the help he’s giving.

Something is seriously broken if the help for these issues is being sought from cops rather than doctors and nurses.

'Doctors and nurses' will have probably done all they can

Its likely hes been passed on to the next stage

Unfortunately, said next stage has been dismantled and 'doctors and nurses' have plenty of other needy folk without being full time MH practitioners

Its not the cops job, either tbf

I do suspect that the mention of cops is around the so called sabotage of the blokes business?

Ah, that makes sense.

I didn't read it like that. More that the police were ineffective in dealing with whatever nefarious activities are going on. Subsequently, his mental health is suffering.

I'm intrigued by the sabotage aspect though.

I get that now. Thing is, my point still applies that the police are often called upon to deal with too many MH issues without adequate training.

Yes sorry, should have made that bit clearer.

They have basically done nothing about the business sabotage, identity theft etc. When he fled he rang me as there were people waiting for him in the lobby of the hotel he was staying in. Can't really go into details on a public forum as its all quite murky.

TmGj..

I'll fill you in when we next have a brew, not got you on fb so can't "share it" to you. Its grim.

The murky world of carpet cleaning

Bet this involves bent coppers and corrupted forensic murder scenes or something

Came across this little article and link to a blog by Greg James on about his Mrs struggles and his subsequent issues.

The partners and family are often forgotten with all this.

The strain my headfuck put on my Mrs back in the darkest of days was ridiculous. Somehow we made it through. She tries to understand nowdays but like her and many others that dont suffer its hard for them to understand and be patient.

In the same I way I have no sympathy for folk with colds and shit :D

Mid to late 80s - my dad got made redundant. Decided to set himself up in carpet cleaning. A few flyers printed. Started out with mates at ABCC and then word got around and he started picking up more and more work. Little classified ads in the BEN. Bought himself a “state of the art” telephone answering machine. And that’s when the fun started! Fuck me, the threats and abuse he would get on that from rival firms. Unreal. He’d play them to me. Cannot believe its still going on!

Don't feel like that.
If it helps to vent, then vent.
Nobody on here would judge you.

Post away..

Rather read 10 posts, reply to ten people and give up a few hours to help someone put than have another evening like Christmas eve.

Once you've been there, you get it..

I thought I'd made so much progression this year- lost weight, felt good... Cutting down the booze

And it all comes crashing; I'm probably equally at fault for a toxic relationship, but I've been slapped again and resorted to glassing myself to prevent her from doing it as she told me she wanted to... Can't be doing with another fucking year like this
