Mental Health/Depression

For those that questioned why I didn’t attend the game last Saturday, this was why. My daughter asked me to go to the Pride parade with her, have a few drinks, a meal, and generally have a catch up on her life and her website project. She doesn’t live with me so I don’t see her that often so face to face time is very valuable

I’ve highlighted one particular part of her social media post from today. That is a nod to WWays. She was stunned by the response from here. I thank all of you that contributed feedback once again for your support.......

As some of you may remember, a year ago I set up a website that allows people to submit and share their personal stories regarding mental health, encouraging people to use their voice and realise that they're not going through this alone.

The response I received was absolutely insane. That insane in fact, that I shut it down after a few months as I couldn't cope with managing the website alongside my own mental health.

But now I'm back 💥 I'm in a better place with my mental health, I'm currently in the process of purchasing my first home, and next week I start my dream job as a Teaching Assistant in a special educational needs school.

So I've decided to relaunch my project. A website where you can anonymously submit your mental health story, in the form of poetry, short stories, song lyrics, or simply anything that expresses you.

Read all 46 pages of this thread last night.  Rang doctors first thing this morning, and got GP appointment.  Now hooked up with referral to a couple of support services.  You don't know me, but

So putting the royal Family in a semi in Hull is applying the same logic 😂😂

Off to overdale later so unfortunately I will be driving through a shithole to get there. It’s not a foreign shithole as it’s in Bolton, England so it’s an English shithole that’s full of foreigners.

Aye mate. What's so difficult to understand about it? If we're talking austerity then the Royals need to be part of that discussion no?

Anyways - @Aniis right to be fair. It is a thread for mental health discussion and support. And whilst I'm worried about the damage immigration is having on your emotional well-being, this isn't the place for bickering.

Day 25 of my 50 day challenge. Head is in a better place. Been good to have something I can focus on and control. Lost just over 14lbs so far. Back exercising more regularly. Still avoiding the carbs and fasting almost every day. A few things in life are getting closer to the finish line that I can tick off and stop worrying about.

The future is still depressing when you read the news and look at the financing meltdown our country is going into. Can’t control that unfortunately.

Thoughts?

Now legal in many states in USA and Canada. Can buy it mixed into chocolate bars over the counter.

If you read into it there's no real evidence it works. There's a 4(3 maybe) parter on Netflix about psilocybin, LSD, MDMA being used in a therapeutic context but it isn't backed up if you look more.into it.

Folk in Silicon Valley swore by microdosing for a while but it was more a "cool" fad than owt.

Bit like saying 6 pints and a gram of Jermaine Beakford can help with depression. Of course it fuckin does.

Till the day after :)

There's no 'come down', you can go to sleep easily and head feels clears the following day.

@steviebis right with the no comedown - quite the opposite - you feel ace the next day. Like a new person.

I had put a load in a cup of tea last summer during a nasty period of high anxiety, OCD and insomnia. It really helped switch my head around.

We're in it all together pal, Charlie boy wouldn't complain I'm sure. What about all those spare rooms at Balmoral. get a few Syrians in there no? 😀

Anyway, I read today that Home Office employees are in talks with the union to sue over the conditions they've been forced to implement in these camps.

Turns out our resident @Cheese might have had a point about the conditions after all.

Best I've heard it described... For low doses (as in enough to feel relaxed but not tripping) is it defragments your brain. Wake up clear headed.

I'm going to be all over it if it becomes legal here.

My mate says the chocs from America/canada have 4g psilocybin dosed into 15 squares. 2 pieces enough to feel chilled. Full 15 away with the fairies. But they are £50 if you can get em.

You can buy CBD chocolate now, what's the benefits of that again?

Brilliant that.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had a big battle the last week with mine, I've come out of the corner punching though, anyone who's struggling, it does get easier with time, and the things which knock you cease to baffle you.

Downside is i need to find myself a new job away from teaching... don't take it literally that I've come out punching 😛

You can allegedly pick them for free on the hills above Bolton when they're in season. Allegedly there's tons of them in the fields above Entwistle Reservoir across to Belmont - which are dotted with weird blokes carrying plastic bags and staring at the ground or so I've heard.

And you can allegedly dry them out in a low oven to last all year round.

And mushrooms act as a sponge when cows and horses are pissing on them so you are cooking them in pure animal piss, enjoy

Oh yes.

All we need to do now is wait until about 11am Sunday while Sunday Brunch is on to know for sure.

But welcome back, glad you're alive.

Sounds like a wonderful way to get some fresh air and exercise.

Wife tells of the days she lived in Horwich. They used to sit outside pubs eating mushrooms from crisp packets so nobody suspected.
