The Owners

Deatils of the new owners/lenders to Football Ventures starting to emerge on Companies House website this morning..

The model appears to be up to half a dozen people putting money in.  It feels more stable to me than being in hock to one person.  If one drops out it should be easier to find another one willing to put in a few million rather than buying a whole club.

A Derby winner still in training over fences at the age of 42, ridden by an 85yo amateur jockey who’s yet to ride under rules? I just don’t see it.

Do you reckon it was Sharon's decision, or something the new chaps decided- with her blessing?

Happened soon after their arrival, and one of them was interviewed about it.

Well, it's a high profile decision & I'm certain she'll have had a say-so in it even if was Hart's concept. Hopefully, & the signs are this, the Board are pretty much as one on most things.

Aye, you can run, but you can't hide

I'd expect its not Sharon

She needs to appoint people and let them do their jobs

I'd be certain something on this PR scale needed her nod  whoever thought of it.

She's the Chair. It's a high profile Corporate policy decision. No way would she not oversee it.

Can't help feeling they would have run it by her, even if it was the new fella's idea.

Decent interview that. I like him feels like we’re in right good hands

Good news about the fanzone, might bring a bigger attendance in

Not listened to it yet, so is the fanzine coming back ? As at the moment to get a beer ore match is a bloody ball ache.

That’s the hope

i suppose they have to get it right with numbers so they aren’t over spending on overheads

Same here not had chance to listen yet I'm at Trent Bridge beer festival drinking freaky ales, but they (or someone else) could make a lot of money if they get a match day bar right on Middlebrook.

Mentioned the 'stadium bowl' outside the club shop rather than the Premier suite (I imagine).

Could be good.

...it's really not hard to do.

You would think so! Something more "adult" than the Fanzone but a bit more polished and deliberate in terms of it being genuinely marketed as a home BWFC fans' pub than Scott's. Decent ale, decent music, old footage etc.

Only thing is, would it be in an area of the stadium or a separate unit like where Missoula was and what does it do the other 25+ days in a month when there's no home game on to entice people in on an out of town retail park.

Coast to Coast has closed down and that would make a great sports bar.

AFC Fylde have built a great sports bar that has become a destination bar, proper demand when any event is on.

Likewise, Wings n Beer in Preston.

Decent food and booze will draw people in.

I think I’d rather queue into the 2nd half (for a bovril), but fair play for them trying something different.

The perfect place would be in the North Stand to replace Keoghs.

Read something on here to say they are moving?

Cant see any demand on it being an office ever again.

A proper sports bar thats used all year round.

Mainly catering for the younger end (burgers, wings etc)

Blackburn have something similar in the Blackburn End of the ground, blues bar.

It’s used as a normal boozer during the rest of the week but the fans can go in for a pint at half time/full time

It’s getting there the club are taking onboard fans views 👍, I know a few people say just go to the game and why bother with the catering/bar set up but it all contributes to the matchday experience

Correct. I would spend more this afternoon if they had a bar you could go in before the game

The hotel bar serves this purpose.

But with the sheer numbers going in there, it’s now become a victim of its own success and that extra space elsewhere is needed. Tbh with the lack of away pubs near the ground, I can’t help thinking we’re missing a trick with their spend one way or another, even if it means losing a few spaces on car park A and sticking a tent up.

Getting busier & busier and unless you get in for 12-12.30 you won’t get a table

We don't own the offices though.

Beehive opening soon and Barnstormers next year, so they will be fine elsewhere.
