Her name is just the small move from an R to an S of being an anagram of The Strange Bug so I reckon you're on to something.

OK I'll say nothing more than this for now on how the death rates may or may not grow - everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and don't need to fall out, so this is it for while.

I'm not using my opinion as a method to extrapolate how its going to pan out.

I've looked at how our daily death figures have grown since we reached 10 deaths.

I've compared this with how Italy, France Germany, US and Spain grew after 10 deaths - I'll call this 10D

These deaths have already happened, they're in the past.

The Facts are that our recorded daily death rate, based on the links I provided earlier, has grown at a similar but also slightly higher % rate from 10D up till today, than any of the other countries above - that is indisputable

The projection that I'm making for the next 10 days is a guess

But It's a guess based on the pattern that we and the countries above have had since 10D. Its not my opinion. its just maths, and the maths may be wrong.

Keep posting fella. I prefer to listen/read from someone who knows a lot more about this than the average bloke on the street.

Italy overtaken China on 3500 deaths

Killing one person every ten minutes in Iran

You see the article about the area in italy worst hit and the fact that it is absolutely full of chinese migrants? And a number of these returned from Wuhan pre lockdown?

bbc article although I only skim read it

When people talk about death rates they need to look at number of tests carried out. Look at ratio of confirmed cases to test numbers then compare.

The true death rate is 0.5-1%. That’s going to be true anywhere. Regardless. The issue is how many get it and how many are confirmed to get it.

Germany's death to cases ratio is very very low. Any ideas why that might be?

Shit loads of ventilators.

For those wanting bread and who have a shitty arse, the co-op on Bury Road will have a fresh delivery at 7am tomorrow.

Same article I posted a while ago mate.

The other one I posted was quite Nostradamus esque....he said Italy, Iran then Spain....and weeks before they started.

I love how Mounts is optimistic about everything.

I read something about how Wuhan, Iran, Spain and Italy are on a similar latitude.

Probably all bollox and fuck all to do with anything and I couldn’t  be arsed getting a map out to check

Sounded very much fingers in ears to me, very brexit like.

I have got a bad feeling about all this.

On a really optimistic note, a poor old bloke the missus was looking after last Sunday died yesterday on the Covid isolation ward. I am starting to worry it is getting all rather close to home.

Obviously wants rid of all his early morning customers who rack up at 8AM with a copy of the Racing Post and nurse a pint of Tetley's for 4 hours.

A pattern is emerging all the remainers are now predicting another apocalypse with this virus, when this is sorted they’ll be back on manny road with a cross on wheels proclaiming the end is nigh. 😂

Been told to prepare for big announcement at 5pm, I think it might be lockdown time.

I think London is for sure, too many not listening.

I was being serious. Your ability to look for the bright side is admirable

All on their way to their second houses in Cornwall, apparently they've shut a Spar shop already because of an infected Londoner in Cornwall.

some thoughts;

If you look at the numbers, both Italy and Spain have significant jumps in number of deaths, like step ups.

We might be on the same trajectory or not.

Italy went for a few days of around 30/day, which is where we are currently.

I don’t think that we, as onlookers, have enough data to say whether we are on the same trajectory, as we don’t know how many folks are in a serious condition.

I’d also be interested to know the numbers in Italy away from Lombardy/the North.

This might give us up here a sense of how it might unfold for us.

It doesn’t feel here like it’s the end of the world as we know it.

suspect it will be the same in many areas - city folk trying to flee to 2nd homes in nice areas.

where do you think will be the areas with least cases, per population - I'm guessing rural, non touristy places like Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Shropshire

Not sure anyone is saying it is the end of the world really mate. I think people are worried because of the unknown impact of this as you highlight.

as has been said we are effectively doing this to protect the vulnerable. That’s it in a nutshell. If the vulnerable could be Immunised (hypothetically) we would be all going about our daily business as normal as I read it. We are approaching lockdown Of our entire nation with potentially catastrophic Economic consequences to protect a specific portion of society. It’s a huge call that’s being made

but when we were going for herd immunity it was unpalletable to a lot that we would have such a large number of deaths. On the flip side lockdown appears unpalletable. It’s a lose lose for the government as it stands.
