That was one of the loveliest things to ever happen. Stood in my garden sobbing like a baby! Proud to work for the NHS 👏👏👏👏❤️

Here's a morbid thought

Most of those that die from here on in, Corona or otherwise, probably won't get a proper funeral

A mate of mine is an undertaker. He literally finished the embalming at grenfell a couple of week ago. Now he's charged with clearing the non infected dead from the hospitals. Doing free of charge.

Needless to say, he's busy

Trump suggesting here they have a drug that's been used for malaria that could work.

That would be some find.

Mentioned it yesterday. Chloroquine (or Hexachloroquine).

Ebola drug Remdesivir also showing great promise.

What’s the only organ in a female body that stays warm after death?

my cock

every undertakers favourite joke that.

Fact.

Sorry for my ignorance if I’ve missed it on an earlier page. But just seen the Photo of the army trucks taking the bodies of the 900 (or so) that died in northern Italy over the last 48 hours to crematoriums in the south of the country as the north is now full.
If that’s not enough to say to people - stay away from the pubs, restaurants & gyms. Isolate. Social distance.

Polite reminder - social distance yourselves from the radio at 7.45am this morning.

professional mourners in Merseyside will be spunking in their knickers

Don't worry everyone, radio stations across Europe are having a synchronised rendition of YNWA tomorrow at 7:45am our time.

I honestly initially read that as, and thought you meant, YMCA, which I'd have been up for

The 61 was an absolute delight this morning.

Much of spain and italy is still chilly

Certainly under the 28c that i recollect as being the temperature where thebug didnt survive

But survived up to 37c fine. And lasts in air at that temperature. Don’t think warmer weather saves us. The antibody test might though. If loads have it then we know they've had it and are immune and life can start to return to some form of normal.  Plus drugs are showing to be somewhat effective.

If you're bored or feeling down, the replies to Michael Owen's piece of expert insight are most amusing

On a weird note.

If the country ever needed to something to bring us back together after Brexit - it's this virus!

regarding funerals, it's going to get messy. I've got 3 likely close relatives going to pass away in the next few months ,but can't see how they are going to get proper send offs.

I work on an ad hoc basis for a local funeral director. Was on a funeral yesterday and the family would normally have expected around 100 mourners; they got about 40.

I was supposed to be at a funeral today of a Para who recently died of "non-battle injuries" in Afghanistan. (Whatever that means! We haven't been told exactly how he died so he may have taken his own life or been run over or any other reason) Anyway, his funeral was likely to have been a large one but his family have asked that only family and very close friends attend. edit - added link https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-51704381

These things are going to get more and more prevalent as this virus kicks in. Talking to my Funeral Director yesterday, he reckons it could get to just a hearse to Overdale (Or even the private ambulance we use for collections) No services for families, straight in, coffin on the catafelque, curtain closed and into the furnace.

I heard yesterday that funeral companies are stopping offering limousines as part of the funeral so that the drivers don't need to sit in a car with folk they don't know (and I guess that works both ways)

It was a school day for me too. I always thought it was caterfelt because that's how every Funeral Director I have worked for has pronounced it. (Or I haven't listened enough) Either way, it's the big wooden table inside the curtained bit at a crematorium.

I agree with this.

Still a few menks snaffling food; that poor lady just going to buy some food after a long shift treating folk says it all.

A neighbour saw two fights over bog rolls etc in Asda.
