Also new notification from some of our factories......they've been told they have to stay shut until 22nd February at the earliest, so that's another week without product being manufactured or shipped

It will really kick off if the virus takes hold in Shanghai and Peking. They have under 400 cases each in those huge cities compared to over 50,000 in Wuhan

You can't negotiate with a virus!

Peking? Jesus, it hasn’t been called that for 40 years. Being a Newton Heath hoolie has taken its toll.

the superspeader's apologizing for having good antibodies in one part of the world saying summat like "i only had a sore throat for half a day" and in another theyre spraying hydrogen peroxide everywhere by the fire engine worth.

a tablespoon of powdered seahorse might cure it , or topical use of a bar of palmolive might work better.

Went for a Chinese meal at Tai Pan near Manchester uni tonight

It's a big old place and normally at least half full whenever you go

There were about 5 tables taken tonight so it was pretty dead

You have to assume this is all putting folk off eating Chinese food

Astley point (In Astley funnily enough) was packed. Not a spare seat in the place.

Fair enough and it's an easy enough assumption to make on my part

But in all the years I've been going at all times of day I've never seen it that dead, particularly on a reekend

I have worked near there for years, had many a night out after work before marriage and kids took over , there was a lot more chance of catching a virus at Astley point when it was the Rendezvous, this corana has nowt on what  contagious viruses used to be on offer there !

Aye, some Chinese woman interviewed on local news in Manchester's Chinatown said bookings were down by about 80% beause peope have cancelled in case they get Corona.

She said "I've lived here for 56 yrs and haven't been back to China in that time!"

Ha ha, i had a bike ride over the Moss past the railway crossing, and came across all these shacks, looked like something Jed Clampett would live in.

Seriously someone needs to bring that virus back to Wigan/Leigh/Astley. It will take one look and fuck off back to where it came from

Either that or invite an infected person to a straightener outside the club shop with miami. Virus gone. Problem solved

If that happened, it would end up in Salford or Manc with the amount of folk what's moved over here in the last 50 years blighting our culture.😃

Very subtle  :D

Just heard from my mate on the cruise ship. They're going to start disembarking the paying passengers but then the crew and staff are to undergo a three week quarentine. He's a bit pissed off.

I'll ask. Wait there.

He did try it but before viewing it asked for bank details. He was unsure if this was going to end up a wank now, pay later deal or just collecting bank details for fraudulent purposes so he didn't bother.

Quarantining is bonkers really. Just making up random rules as they go. See today DoH saying schools shouldn't close if there are suspected cases until the cases are confirmed...so until its too late...brilliant!

So long as those suspected of having it are isolated, maybe that's enough?

I'm sure they won't make any decisions without input from experts.

Micky- news saying government is looking at flying the ship people home.

Any people SUSPECTED of having the corona virus and who have possibly been in touch with a suspected carrier or visited an area where cases are confirmed ought to self quarantine anyway.
