Anyway, I see a number of US states are recording new case records

Not to say they'll die, but I'm not sure this fits with Trumptons plan

Mostly Republican-leaning states. Oops

Jumping the gun a bit there I reckon.

Anyway, seems a mix of MPs want us to move to a 4 day week, to help improve mental health etc.

What do folk think of that?

I’m not doing an extra day for no one. 😂

I found this quote rather chilling:

Quote

Overall, coronavirus cases are climbing in 20 states, and decreasing in 20 states plus Washington, D.C., The New York Times reports. Cases have remained mostly the same in 10 states. This week, the University of Washington revised its forecast to project more than 200,000 American deaths from COVID-19 by October 1.

"It really does feel like the U.S. has given up," Siouxsie Wiles, an infectious-diseases specialist at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, told The Washington Post in an interview published Friday. Jeva Lange

I've just had a look how busy Heathrow airport is.There are 2 planes leaving at 10.25 and then the next departure from any terminal is at 11.00. There are 6 planes departing between 11 and 12.

The travel industry is still absolutely fucked

Southend airport aint a big one, but they still expected 3.5 mill passengers this year

Pretty sure the chief exec said they did 123 in april, 1 in may and none in june

The 123 was a repatriation flight

I am happy to stand corrected. Fucking hell, we are going to see rates go through the roof soon surely?

I know some people thought that Germany were coming out of lockdown too soon, looks like they might have been right. Fingers crossed we don't see similar numbers now that we're starting to ease our lockdown

Correct me if I’m wrong (I know I’m not usually) but when they came out was it not almost immediately they raised concerns themselves and started talking of regional lockdowns and then the whole economic pressures just silenced the science for want of a better phrase?

i suspect it’s a mirror image of what we will see. So we should watch with great interest

Yep. We need to watch very closely and learn very quickly what to do and what not to do

Problem is we appear very insular well the government do and a lot of the public. We have live case studies going on all over the world. So by fuck let’s pay attention and not fall into the same traps if possible

My missus is down the A&E this evening (possible broken foot but I wasn’t really listening)

She says it’s very quiet.

Kent said there are no Covid cases there currently.

Bring it on, we can obviously cope with a second wave. Worth the aggro I reckon.

This beer takeaway from pubs business is one thing that concerns. Really sensible bloke I used to work with posted a load of pics on social media of him and his wife celebrating the kids being away for the night with a “Waaay Haaay me and the Mrs finally get a night out”. Sat in a fucking rammed beer garden with hundreds of others. Been to the boozer for take out and then everyone had walked a hundred yards to the next boozer (which was shut) and sat in their garden

Fuckmops. In Birmingham. Which has had a high death rate.

i just don’t get it. Shit like that will send our R number soaring again

Agreed but I still think the majority are being sensible so whilst it will rise we’ve just got to be careful. I’m guessing job type will make a difference as some folk won’t avoid closer contact.

im back on the road this week twice thank fuck over to Barnsley and Wigan but both are in massive meeting rooms with 4&3 folk respectively and full hygiene measures.

biggest test for me will when the pubs open. Apart from that I reckon I can keep myself out of harms way.

You lucky get. When this all over I will never once moan about the 6 hours slogs to the likes of Ipswich, Chelmsford and Aberdeen. They can close the motorways, delay me for hours, make me eat service station food and I’ll be happy as a pig in shit to be back on the road
