It's happening all at once isnt it. If July 4 is the big date for all those businesses, we're talking another 2 full months before football season, suddenly looking more and more like it'd be daft to think fans wouldn't be allowed in. Yeah, I was just replying with the link to someone who thought they were getting the app pushed on them, when in fact it's just a change in the google settings to allow the app to work, when it's available. This study suggests the virus was in China in August https://dash.harvard.edu/handle/1/42669767 They've looked at historic satelitte images of chinese car parks, and trends in chinese search engine usage for the prevalance of covid symptoms at the same time - both suggest something was up in early Autumn. Nobster Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 The brewers need 4 weeks to brew the ale, add preparations and delivery times and we are looking at a couple of months before we see a pub open. Quote

But loads of pubs round here are ‘open’ - you’re just not allowed to drink inside them. The rec which is round the corner from a pub called the shortlands tavern (Now open 7 days a week and doing a brisk trade) has had so many people on it, the council have erected barriers round the copse at the top of the field with the police doing pee patrols as over the weekend there was a river of piss going into folks gardens. Lovely. Quote

Is the beer that’s already being sold in shops, supermarkets etc any different? My point is, beer is already in circulation. We’re not starting from zero production. Quote

Not in Crawley Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 I don’t know if any of you listen to it but More or Less on radio 4 has been amazing during lockdown to really get to the real story behind the figures from impact on ethnic groups to the real data behind the social distance. I’d urge anyone to have a listen as what it does show is how poor many journalists are bad at interpreting data. Quote
