PT at our gym (Virgin... the gym, not him, although I wouldn't know) tells us they're quietly gearing up for a July 4 opening also.

Floodgates.

David Lloyd are talking about early July opening.

It's happening all at once isnt it.

If July 4 is the big date for all those businesses, we're talking another 2 full months before football season, suddenly looking more and more like it'd be daft to think fans wouldn't be allowed in.

Had a look at that, then the greater Manchester public health thing.

Can't see any reference to an app on the public health bit, so unless it's elsewhere, it seems a non starter.

Yeah, I was just replying with the link  to someone who thought they were getting the app pushed on them, when in fact it's just a change in the google settings to allow the app to work, when it's available.

this sez italy's had the rona since december

The first cases in Italy may have spent some or all of their infectious period in China.

This study suggests the virus was in China in August  https://dash.harvard.edu/handle/1/42669767

They've looked at historic satelitte images of chinese car parks, and trends in chinese search engine usage for the prevalance of covid symptoms at the same time - both suggest something was up in early Autumn.

Had an email from a cinema chain there opening on the 11th .

Would expect this 2 mtrs to be reduced to 1  metre Before the pubs open so staff can work in close proximity

announcement by Boris would have to before the end of the week so  pubs can prepare and open on the 4 th if that’s what’s happening . Can see it though

The brewers need 4 weeks to brew the ale, add preparations and delivery times and we are looking at a couple of months before we see a pub open.

Haven’t some already anticipated the 4th?

But loads of pubs round here are ‘open’ - you’re just not allowed to drink inside them.

The rec which is round the corner from a pub called the shortlands tavern (Now open 7 days a week and doing a brisk trade) has had so many people on it, the council have erected barriers round the copse at the top of the field with the police doing pee patrols as over the weekend there was a river of piss going into folks gardens. Lovely.

Is the beer that’s already being sold in shops, supermarkets etc any different?

My point is, beer is already in circulation. We’re not starting from zero production.

Weeks away apparently. Wonder if it’s in the poverty stricken areas yet

I don’t know if any of you listen to it but More or Less on radio 4 has been amazing during lockdown to really get to the real story behind the figures from impact on ethnic groups to the real data behind the social distance. I’d urge anyone to have a listen as what it does show is how poor many journalists are bad at interpreting data.

That post you quoted makes me look like I’m happy they’ve got 54,000 new cases
