Curious as to where you’d get that level of data

you must have learned by now, don't engage him when it comes to politics, he gets ever so confused

Well I found out yesterday that the leader of the opposition has absolutely no influence in parliament.

That will come as a shock to the Queen, the rest of parliament and indeed Johnny Taxpayer who, as it turns out, is paying for 200+ MP’s to sit in westminster gazing at the ceiling.

This government that is now giving people who can afford to eat in restaurants £10 off their meals is the same government that had to be dragged kicking and screaming into making sure poor children could eat over the summer holidays.

One is 50% off if you can afford it to kick start the economy.

The other is potentially giving free reign for 'some' to expect the government to feed their kids all year round.

Fwiw... I'm all for both schemes. Think the school dinners needs to be as temporary as half price nandos though.

Monday-Wednesday only for the money off

Do we get a discount on buttered hotdogs and lobby?

Even at half price, it'd still cost too much. Nandos really is for the peasants

Aye.

I've already said if I end up using this deal it will be in local restaurants and cafes that sign up to it rather than national chains.

Hoping Lucianos and cherry tree sign up!

It’s max 10 per head as well isn’t it? Two fish and  chips up here in a restaurant is 30 quid plus

Probably depends on what kind or level of evidence would convince you?

This is quite a good discussion on how the virus is transmitting, this sort of stuff is enough for me given the credentials of the people involved:

The other clincher was the study on the effects of masks in finally bringing the NYC spike down:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/alicegwalton/2020/06/13/face-masks-may-be-the-key-determinant-of-the-covid-19-curve-study-suggests/#528b8a764971

If you want to delve a little deeper there's studies you can look at. The evidence is by no means all one way, there was a counter argument about the danger of a false sense of security affecting behaviour, but the trend is very much towards the pro mask argument.

Agreed. The trend is very pro-mask, and I would have no problem if ordered to wear. The wearing of a mask to stop you spreading it is a no-brainer. Wearing one to prevent you catching it? I’m not completely convinced. I see different arguments there and none appear more compelling than others at the moment

Yes, 50% off per person, up to a maximum of £10 per head - only available during August and on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I'm sure plenty will complain, but I'm sure myself and Mrs Sweep will use it to support a couple of our local restaurants who have really struggled the past few months

Yep we’ve already mapped out where we are going two nights per week in August  Local places that We’ve used before. We were going to go back anyway but this just gives a nice benefit to us as well.

same here, depending on which local places take the government up on the scheme (as they have to register), I think we've worked out that we should be able to take advantage of the deal and eat out cheaply about 9 or 10 times in August

Positive cases down by 25% this week, looks like all those people on Bournemouth beach had washed their hands

We can stand at the bar now.

I think the safest approach is to assume you're wearing the mask to stop you giving it to others, that way you won't forget the other important things like social distancing, clean hands etc.

Obviously you'll need to carry a sword to ensure that others wear their masks. You knew that already.

Wearing a mask either makes you less likely to get the virus or it has no impact. So apart from looking and feeling like a twat, what is the downside ?

Grassroots sport can start from Saturday

starting with cricket

There was an article last weekend in the Express.

Basically calling most UK employees lazy workshy bastards who are playing the virus.  Happily sat at home collecting 80% and using every excuse they can not to return.

Those who are "working" use the excuse that It isn't safe to go into the Office, but its OK to go to the beach etc of course. Doing a couple of e-mails & not even changing out of their dressing gown all day if its raining.

Society has accepted this attitude for years & the economy will now pay for it.

Most will go from furlough to the dole queue when end of October comes and the Govt hand-outs stop.

Sad but true.

you do know you dont decide to be furloghed, dont you?

i do however agree that a lot will go from furlough to redundant, but thats hardly their fault and i dont think itll take til october

Nah, love a Nando's, but for what it is, it has gone a bit expensive.

Never been Nando’s

and why do people say “ having a cheeky Nando’s”

Same as folk saying "cheeky pint"  or even "beer (or wine) o'clock".

Cunts.

My brother got potted yesterday after 3 months furlough.

26 years service too.

Nando's is glorified chicken in a basket.

I for one am glad they never opened on the burger King site at Middlebrook.
