Proper Shithole Pubs.

With the lockdown ending and most of the drinking establishments getting a lick of paint, i remember going in the Crown pub in Tyldesley, it was off the main drag and hardly used, a proper Walkers pub built near a mill. Place was falling apart, outside bogs with a stench what rats would even venture clear, and a clientele of us underage drinkers and old men with missing limbs.

Was that the place just off the roundabout above the East Lancs Road? Heading into Pendleton? If so I went with uni mate. It was completely segregated. Uni lot you sit there, spend your cash, cause no mither. Locals, you cause no bother, sit in the back room out of sight and do what you need to do. Landlord ran it with an iron fist. Nobody argued with him

Sounds like summat off Star Trek

The Rocket not had a mention? Been knocked down now has it? Only place I have ever been to where you could buy half a Park Drive. Not a full 'un - half of one! Tap room packed out and Northy had more teeth when he'd lost his dentures (that'll stump some of the JCL's on here).

Smashed out porcelain in the bogs, rickety furniture - what a fucking dump. Wood St. Social Club was classy by comparison.

Before you ask, I had a mate just up the road where the newer, flashier houses were (just round the corner from Freddie Hills house). He used to like to pop in for a swifty to get a reality check before heading off to the White Horse to sup with snobs.

A few years back the lad had a football match on the fields at the back of New Lane, remember passing The Rocket thinking, ah that's where the infamous pub is. The state of some of the gardens backing on to the fields, I have seen tidier fucking scrap yards.

Played against them for The Bug in the Bolton Sunday league around 1984, got changed in the Rocket then all traipsed through someone's garden to get on the pitch, even offered a pint at 10.00am Sunday morning

The Flying Shuttle

Is it still there?

The City on Oldham street in Manchester.

Cans no draft, stock kept in the pool table. People in and out selling meat out of bags, cheese out of bags, stolen perfume.

Last time I went in the floor was just the concrete with no flooring on top.

Drove by young Frankie kelly in his 4x4 Bentley thing today. £160k easy for one of them.

They hit jackpot with ma Kelly’s, everything else they’ve done turned to gold as well, apart from maybe the fleetwood one.

Next stop Tenerife I’m led to believe...

Fuck me I spoke too soon.

Been told today Paul Kelly is facing jail for fraud. Talking millions.

Investigation ongoing and he’s already gone through 3 lawyers.
