Its appeasement, that's all it is, and more people will end up dying in the longer term if you essentially capitulate to agressors. These aren't peace deals in the slightest.

  • We’ve reached a point where folk are so entrenched in their support for trump that they’ll side with Putin if it means not losing face on the socials. Thats where we are now. its ok

  • That Vance is a bigger cunt than Trump

Do not adjust your sets, this is not Vietnam War footage. Absolute antiques, and now upgraded to keep them in service beyond 2040!

Can you imagine the stench on there when they crack that door open?

First two numbers of that registration tell you the year it was built. Insane.

When you consider fleet age was high on the list of reasons BA gave for getting shut of 747s.

Illegal to post this in Russia.

But this isn’t Russia. (Yet)

In the event that we're taken over by our Russian overlords - can I just say how distasteful I find this image and that I think Rudy should be sent to the nearest gulag! Which will probably be in Breightmet.

The B-52s come over on rotation to UK with these B-1's every few months, at the other end of the scale they are just pure noise. I've seen one of these take off at RIAT a few years ago and it's by far the loudest thing I've ever heard it makes your skull rattle!

And that's the end of the jet spamming now, I can't afford to go down this rabbit hole again at 11pm 😀

It really does!

I love old jets; Vulcans, Tornadoes and Harriers.

Best day ever as a kid was a leaving show for RAF Brawdy as it was being shutdown. My brother was stationed there so my grandad and I trundled down in a shite Nissan van for fucking hours listening to radio 4.

I was about 12 or 13 and as of that age, the willingness of appeasing boring grandpa was not appealing but I hadn't seen my brother in months and it was a big show apparently.

Fucking hell every bastard plane and helicopter still flying was out there, giving big licks and showing off.

The harrier hovering nearly over us then nodding to Princess Anne before turning round on a sixpence and fucking off into the distance was amazing.

Spot on L. Over hyped BS by a sensationalist Western media. One cunt on the BBC this morning closed his dire scaremongering with the line ...and a source told me last night that "this is a moment of extreme jeopardy".  Aye, Alf in the public bar as he tried to balance 3 pints and 3 pickled eggs from the bar to our table. Fuck off with your sensationalist bullshit FFS.

No cunt would talk to Putin after Salisbury and other obnoxious things he has sanctioned. All this sabre rattling is merely to get them all talking to him again and from what I can see, they have been beating a path to his door and forming a queue. He knows how to play the game. It's as simple as that. There would be nothing to gain for him by invading; only things to lose.

If cotton mill stock with a brain the size of an amoeba like me can see this, why the fuck does half of the worlds population resort to stockpiling food, excavating for bomb shelters and spend time fashioning tinfoil hats?

I've not seen pickled eggs in a pub since 1996 (The Shakespeare).

You're in nowhere land - a 'pom' there, a non-Spanish speaker in Spain and someone stuck in 1986 in the country you fucked off from.

They were the great days when we had all the different Cold War era stuff to show off especially Vulcan and Harrier those displays were always brilliant. Must have felt totally unnatural to be sat in a hovering jet bowing forward!

Typhoon and F-35 we have today are incredible machines that we're lucky to have but something not quite as exciting as a filthy Tornado setting all the car alarms off.

Signals Russia does not intend to invade imminently

Our Moscow correspondent Diana Magnay says the latest moves by Russia are a "very good sign" that diplomacy could still work.

As we've mentioned, Russia's military has said some troops are being pulled back from the Ukrainian border.

In a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Sergey Lavrov yesterday, the foreign minister had suggested there was still a path for diplomacy.

Magnay says the latest moves by Russia are "signals to the West that Russia does not intend to invade imminently".

But she admits there is "very little trust between Russia and the West" so "it has to continue in this direction before we all breathe a sigh of relief".

They'd make the Iraqi insurgency look like Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Especially as they're being armed to the teeth by NATO.

He's a goner, legacy my arse.

You may be right, I've never been convinced of a total desire to invade. It doesn't do any harm to talk though- even if it means leaders going to Moscow to do so.

Important thing is not to give in to ridiculous demands and stay strong and resolute.

Then maybe help him with a means of climbing down without embarrassing himself at home.

We'll see.

I do thing some of the rhetoric from western governments has been, at least in part, propaganda. Possibly even a means by which Russia can back down, remove troops and say "told you we didn't intend to invade". Win- win situation.

This is usually a pretty foreboding sign but against the backdrop of what sounds like positive ish news the last day or so, hopefully not.

There was a cyber attack a week or two back on a department. Iirc BAE systems fixed it.

One of our customers, a major mil/aero manufacturer, had a cyber attack last week. It took them fully offline for two whole hours. They told our IT people that they get "attacked"  every couple of weeks, but they usually nip it in the bud, this time it got through and caused them utter chaos.

The usual statement about terrorism etc applies here; the defenders have to be successful every time, the attackers only have to be successful once.

I've no doubt that western powers are employing similar tactics.
