  • It's more likely that Sheff U could be in for Evatt.     You cock.

  • No, some are giving him dogs abuse.....i think he is amusing I cannot take him serious, but give him full marks for effort

  • Couldn’t give a shiny about wilder or sheff u. COYWM

Why sack him now and not in November?

Can't see the logic in this i think he'd of took them back up

Clearly not got to grips with it this season. Some poor buying, £23m for Brewster was ludicrous but I don't know their policy on who makes the recruitment decisions there.

It does seem unnecessarily brutal. For that scale of club promotion is often achieved in stages & a yo-yoing has to be how it is. Managers in that level will queue to join them.

Plenty of bad signings in football but 23 million for Brewster has to be right up there with the worst.

More to it than results I think.

New owners.

Read that he wanted players in the January transfer window, owner said no you've spent enough already esp on Brewster and the keeper

Can't see it going down well with the fans

The missing decimal point on the fax has a lot to answer for

Now that the Evattino experiment is thankfully reaching its conclusion, its time we upped our game (lets be honest its not hard with Evatt) and bust a gut to get Wilder.

Hopefully we would get back to watching teams that want to win properly.

There’s always various schools of thought when it comes to change of management.

Outsiders looking in generally tend to to be surprised when managers of clubs who are over achieving (or have over achieved) are potted. The feeling is what do they expect? Is anyone really going to do any better? I must admit, taking away some poor signings, this is my reaction to Wilder going.

I remember talk shows and pundits reacting similarly when Coyle and Lennon went.

Viewpoints from within a clubs fanbase differ vastly too. You have the x-factor we know better than anyone else, a couple of poor performances and manager out types. There were (and still is isn’t there @hughmungus)  plenty of those about in Pre December with IE. Not willing to invest in a process, have a long-term view and patience.

But then of course as in the case with Coyle and Lennon, the outsiders don’t get a good understanding and feel of what is going on in the club and are often misguided in their judgements.

Maybe there’s more to it with Wilder.

He has been linked with Celtic for a couple of weeks at least. Maybe it got further along than just rumours. There will be a few Championship managers having trouble sleeping till he is sorted somewhere.

Ridiculous.

Best job in the world that football manager lark.

He will soon be back in work at Middlesborough.

Lots going on behind the scenes. Owner wants a director of football and head coach structure so was to remove recruitment etc from wilder apparently it’s been going on quite a while all this and has finally come to a head . I’ve a few mates who are blunts they are very unhappy people.

Aye you would think the starting place with any football club would be what goes on the pitch instead they get all caught up with structures but like businesses you see losing their focus on products and customers.
Seems a decent bloke too.

You're trying way too hard now.

Find yourself a hobby, or a partner.

He's got a partner, his problem is boredom after he's blown her up

Won’t be getting the bus to work now

Wilder is a phenomenal coach, a decent size portion of the team from their league 1 season with us developed so well & moulded into his way of playing that they looked not only like top tier champ players but solid BPL players in that first season. In our league 1 promotion season we may have beat them in both games but our squad was built on a quick fix, short term success where as Sheff U had a project & a way of playing which would help them compete on a low budget against teams with better finances. One tip for managers trying to stay up in the prem... do not buy "young talent" from liverpool. Coyle wasted cash on N'gog, Howe wasted cash on Ibe & Solanke, Wilder wasted cash on Brewster. Buying on potential is too risky when you're at the other end of the table, our panic buy of Sordell was so bad

I think Liverpool inserted a £40M buy back clause as well................I suspect they won't be triggering that any time soon

Dean Henderson in goal (on loan from MU) was key in getting them promoted, and then key in keeping them up in the PL. Without him this season they are suffering.
