Absolutely no doubt their neighbours are worried about Hamas members coming in as well. Says that in the article.

It only make reference to the concern over the possibility of Hamas instigating attacks on Israel from within their borders, which is one of the reasons but not the sole reason

Aye

Which shows a genuine concern over militants coming in.

But the fact Israel won’t allow any to return & refuses to offer Palestine a state is the biggest reason for me. All their neighbours are unified in the need for a two state solution. But the US & Israel refuse to go down that path. Which is having a huge impact on any  solution.

What other reasons would you give? That Hamas might look to attack Egypt or Jordan’s  government from within?

That Hamas will support insurgencies (most obviously the Muslim Brotherhood) in the northern Sinai seeking to overthrow the Egyptian government

It was the stated given reason in court when Egypt designated Hamas a terrorist organisation after president Morsi was removed from power

Their reluctance to take in Palestinian refugees is not the altruistic endeavour it's portrayed to be

I don’t think they’re trying to be altruistic, they’ve clearly been very honest about why they don’t want the like of Hamas crossing over

and it’s not just Egypt

it’s Jordan & Lebanon too.

Why would they take in 2 million refugees overnight if they had no opportunity to return? It’s not a moral standpoint, it’s common sense.

Israel refusing to even acknowledge a two state solution is a huge reason as to why we’re in this mess. Palestine should be allowed to exist.

The irony!

Go on I’ll play, what does the Russia and Ukraine conflict have to do with other Arab countries not allowing Palestinians in?

No irony my man.

You are the true master. I try very hard, but I can’t get near. What’s your secret?

It’s incredible how you always find a way to interrupt a perfectly normal discussion with your pedantic screeches.

I don’t want to play thanks, I think my point is pretty obvious.

Appreciate the offer to discuss though ❤️ makes a change from the jokes about my job, or something I said 5 months ago x

Crikey,  all that just to say there’s no comparison 😂

It was a weird bit of whataboutery though.

Poetic wasn’t it

Though I’m wondering why someone as clever as yourself hasn’t figured out what my point was?

Nope, another thing I haven’t figured out is this excuse that Arab countries don’t want Palestinians because, to put it bluntly, they may be stuck with them. Why wasn’t this used as an excuse for the millions of Syrians that have fled to other Arab countries? What about the Iraqi and Iranians? Do European countries use this excuse when trying to deny access to millions of refugees from around the world?

Let’s be honest here, it looks like the majority of Palestinians aren’t wanted.

You’re a million miles away from what my point was to TMJ

Anyway

Arab countries don’t want Israel to abolish Palestine . They’re all fairly united in their views on a two state solution.

Just like the UK & Europe don’t want Putin to turn Eastern Ukraine into a Russian state. Palestine’s neighbours don’t want to see them wiped off the map. If they let millions in, then they play a part in that happening.

Yet Europe are letting in million of Ukrainians? Go figure

There needs to be a 2 state solution, no idea why this is so hard to grasp for some.

Saying there needs to be a 2 state solution isn’t going to stop people getting dead.

Clearly. But if you think Trumps master plan for the middle east is his Gaza plan I have a bridge to sell you.

I’m talking about the neighbours. We can all sit here and say what will or won’t work. One thing that undoubtedly will help is neighbouring countries opening their borders.

Two quite different situations & conflicts. No harm in comparing though.

If Europe or the UK taking refugees from Ukraine meant that their homeland was handed to Putin, then we’d resist & do otherwise.

There are a number of reasons why Palestine’s neighbours won’t accept millions more. I’ve openly accepted on here that one of those reasons will be more militants in their country.

But there really is no denying that another reason is because Israel won’t allow them back & will claim the land for itself. It happened the last time Jordan & Lebanon took them in.

An honest question here,  are you genuinely suggesting  that Israel’s policy not to let Palestinians return & illegally occupy land isn’t one of the reasons at play here?
