Doing some flirting you two

It's merely a culinary debate.

Albeit between a maestro (me) and a dilettante - who probably considers little zinc buckets of chips, mains on roof tiles and paprika scattered on plate rims to be the height of sophistication.

Spider probably thinks Escoffier was the right back for Olympique Marseille when Chris Waddle played there.

No he's not. They are OK, but nowt on a potato cake.

This is a country that has square sausages in cheap meat fo fucks sake.

From a man who thinks that a week in a Wendy house in a farmers field wiping his arse with  kitchen roll eating tins of beans and sausage warmed up on a candle for a meal is a holiday. I shall pass on your culinary advice Ta 🤣

Which house?

I don't have a freezer at one.

Crisp 'n' Dry is, as far as I know vegetable or sunflower oil - just vastly more expensive.

You probably try to triple cook chips to serve with rubbish quality and undercooked fillet steak.

You probably drive 20 miles to Waitrose so you can kid yourself you're not a g/l pleb for whom a Bella Pizza was a rare treat growing up.

A gastronome who probably ate a chippy tea from Eustace or Melville Street chip shops every Friday from age 6 to 18.

You probably eat quinoa.

I bet you've had dinner parties.

Which are anathema to professionals.

I bet you dislike fish, apart from Monkfish.

I bet you frequent some crap overpriced butcher in the nest of chavs and roadmen that is Horwich.

And nailed on you dine at 'Retreat' (which is lamentable) at least once a month.

I’ll easily deflect your slings and arrows all day long, but imply anything negative about Bella Pizza again and I will fight you to the death in the Octagon lobby.

Too far, that, and you know it.

I wasn't besmirching Bella Pizza, quite the opposite.

We'd sneak into The Water Place instead of paying and use the savings for an Americano afterwards.

Not been for years, but I took my niece about eight years back...

The Americano was exactly the same as it was when I was about 12.

Belting fresh, but didn't ever travel/reheat well.

Be a shame if the pandemic kills the place off.

All the other units looked a bit '28 Days Later' when I went for my 2nd jab night before the Crawley match.

The Octagon cafe doesn't do lobby aka potato 'ash, lobby is a Wigan term.

Looks utter shite too, really good 70's architecture replaced by a soulless box.

Anyhow I haven't had any in years, never really cared for the corned beef one either, it was always Sunday joint leftovers in our house.

Even then it's a mark of a dish if it has to be liberally dosed with; vinegar, salt and pepper, beetroot or red cabbage or vinegared sliced onions.

It's far from a dish I'd choose, but to make out it's like gruel is ludicrous.

It isn’t fit to lace the boots of a bowl of gruel.

What you having for breakfast? Lightly poached Snowy Owl and devilled Swan livers ?

Kedgeree.

Freshly ground coffee

And a cheeky Mimosa made with freshly squeezed orange juice and Bolly.

What colour is your breakfast cravat? I assume it’s a navy/red paisley affair?
