Had to sell my Fontaines ticket for Friday and that makes it 3 in a month I've had to miss, state my head is in at the moment could have done with a boost.

Clutch last night great live band they were really up for it last night crucial velocity was colossal. One of the supports Green lung were fantastic too even if there were a few spinal tap moments 😐

We went to watch Brett Young and Callista Clark in the Acedemy2 on saturday night. The gig was quality but i'm not a big fan of the venue. My first time in there, can't see me hurrying back. I'm sure there were far more than the 950 capacity in there. There must have been that number queuing at the bar at any one time

Ended up going to see Gang of Youths, thankfully knew a lad from school who was going and hooked up with him. Brilliant energy from the band, the place was rocking from start to finish - with the occasional boring slow song in the middle so everyone could go for a piss, etc.

Member of the band swapping instruments throughout as well. Proper musicians.

Off to watch Bono at the Academy tonight, christmas present for my dad (Big U2 fan). I know that bono/U2 split opinion massively but am quite looking forward to it as his book has been an interesting read and it sounds like its an interesting concept for a show.

Jnr Yoof chuffed that got Boardmasters tickets which went mental when Liam Gallagher signed exclusive show deal with them.

PS Ride and Charlatans look to be reliving 92 daytripper tour in North America next year.

I'd get the tickets sold, make a profit and go elsewhere. Any time oasis or the Gallaghers are at a festival it attracts an army of utter cocks

Might seem an odd question but any gig going types out in Manchester at the moment?

Ozrics and Gong last night although them switching the order around meant I just stayed for Ozrics.

Sound engineer seemed to have set it up so you couldn't hear the mics but with them being instrumental and there not being much chat with the audience it didn't matter too much.

Sometimes try to give it the benefit of the doubt but it's not a good venue the Academy 2, can't put my finger on exactly why though.

Managed to get to the Adidas Spezial event at Canvas in Manchester on Saturday night. Train strikes definitely affected the audience size. Loads of tickets flying about on the day. Pastel opened followed by Afflecks Palace. Embarrassingly enough, the “support” band had the larger audience. However, those train strikes could easily be blamed, my last bus home would’ve meant leaving part way through the main act (I’d opted to stay dry and drive in the end).

Tons of Adidas memorabilia in the place. I’d actually got tickets for Liam Fray there as well on the Thursday but gave them away…. They were FREE - my kind of gig price!!
