  • I'm in + 1. Not selling 5k tickets to 10k+ ST holders is piss poor, frankly. I don't give a shit about... it's only Stockport/the membership scheme/it's not free/it's on a Sunday etc etc

Bigger issue for us at minute than how much we're making of our possession is how cheaply we keep giving it away and how poor we've become without it. Maybe we weren't under so much pressure in possession last season, teams close us down quicker and more physically in this league, but we also don't appear to be pressing with the same collective intensity. No doubt IE and his staff can produce some stats that disprove it, but to my eyes we aren't quite at the levels of last season, for whatever reason.

pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass

give ball away

concede.

Early season when we were doing better full backs were in front of centre halves so wide and central passes went forward and reasonably quickly. As season has gone on and teams have sussed us out we have got worse. Baptiste does not help.

Is your Mrs gonna mind me staying there without you?

The thing with the tactics for me, and agreeing with most of what has recently been posted, is do we need to be that clever and smart as Evatt thinks to win games??

This is the third division, do we really need a way of playing that we rarely seem to be able to pull off, do we need to pull 3rd tier teams left and right for 70mins to get them tired then hope to capitalise ?? Do the teams at the top play like this? I just think it completely over egged at this level.

Yes, play attacking football, but do it in a way that is easier to achieve, easier to implement, and easier to get points when we're not at 100%.

Seriously how many games has it clicked compared to not? Even the winning run last year some games we really struggled to break teams down.

I think you make a fair point but Evatt set his stall out and is recruiting players with this method of play in mind, this can be the template going forward if we ever get promotion.

We've all missed buses home due to a bout of the shits, mate.

Stick around, mate, you'll fit right in.

PS fair/rational post too.

Tbf i dont think my bowels agree with FA Cup days, similar happened 4 years ago when we blew a 3-0 Half time lead against FC Utd and it finished 3-3, we then lost replay 1-0 playing against 9 men for 70 mins and also conceding while they were down to 9 too, i'd long since left with kecks round my ankles in Moston Park having an absolute nightmare trying to avoid rustling leaves too much to attract the attention of the close by unsuspecting dog walkers

Somehow felt like i got the best end of the deal that night though not having to witness much of the game, this somehow contrived to be worse!

Thought you guys lacked a bit of a presence upfront for most part to bring best out of Doyle, and was surprised Alex Baptiste was even playing still never mind in League One he was dreadful I thought

You're a team not too disimilar to ourselves in coming out the other side of a dismal period and financial ruin except ours seems to have been a little more elongated! Sure you will comfortably finish mid table this year which may not be what want or expect, but should give you foundations to press on for Championship in next couple years and you'll be a stronger club for it

We've been out the league for good 10 years now and pulling better crowds now than whence we left it, if we can reach EFL again in next couple years, along with all plans to redevelop our stadium etc we will be in much better position to ensure our predicament doesnt happen again, our infrastructure off the pitch is way beyond level we are at, but National League is an absolute nightmare of a division to escape and missed huge opportunity to do so last year, sure if we can escape we will quickly get promoted again and our paths may cross soon enough, our chairman has an ambitious plan for Championship in 7 years, we just need to be smarter in how we spend our dosh cos weve chucked long contracts and cash around with no real structure and a bonkers managerial appointment in replacing a club legend has set us back

Yesterday is hopefully start of pressing on with our ambition with players and fans united again

Keep the faith

2 posts and both reference separate times he's shit himself.

He's already in my top 10 posters on here ever! 🤣

Slightly different topic the Beehive is open again & Stockport fans were In early

Given the scarcity of pubs in the area should we be making efforts to secure it as a home pub rather than wait for the gazebo type fanzone.?

Just a thought.

Haha not quite more necessary precautions to avoid that situation occuring

Tbf having travelled to about 130 different grounds watching County (a sign of our rapid decline through the divisions considering only 35 years old) i could write a book on my away day stories, from this latest episode to falling in an allotment at Blyth Spartans, getting reported missing to the police in Milton Keynes, 2 trips to Staines Town in 3 days to watch us be dumped out on pens

The list is endless really and I wouldnt change it for the world! All part of the character building

Absolutely apart from Sunderland & Sheffield I doubt it will be used by big numbers of away fans

Good atmosphere in there for what really isn't a football type pub, there was a poor unsuspecting family celbrating a birthday having a meal, i'd imagine blissfully unaware of a football match on that day, what could have been seen as bit of intimidating atmosphere for them turned into a great day for them when took it upon ourselves to sing them happy birthday, and they soon realised mood wasnt all bad and were lapping it up!

The pub has only just reopened 1st November after 6 months renovation following flash floods in May!
