Santos positioning for the goal from the corner is unforgivable. No way he should be underneath the ball

Get what you're saying, but he can't be everywhere. Keown was saying they were trying to miss him out as others weren't as effective in the air.

That's an issue, particularly from set pieces.

In open play, you do have the chance to stop as many crosses coming in, but last night, those forwards/wide men provided little cover for that purpose.

One of the most impressive aspects of man city's game is seeing quality attacking players (like the silvas) working their trumpers off to get the ball back quickly. We don't do that.

That’s Santos bread and butter. Positioning for every corner was decent enough but that one I’ll write off as being a bad un.

Defend from the front. Thats why we beat so many teams last year our fitness edged over nearly every team,  80 mins we were still looking good whilst other teams were blowing out . League one teams are fitter than some of guff we played last year.

Need to get ugly and mix it up

Agree entirely with your last paragraph. There is something wrong within the camp, and Evatt, could quite possibly be the root cause.

Even if that’s the case, unless the club sacks a few more Sarc-style, whilst IE is manager he’s got the whole of this squad until January. If he’s suddenly found out the squad isn’t fit for purpose then he’d better start looking for replacements.

I’m fairly sure the board will have an eye on what’s going on in the dressing room and, if it turns out IE is the issue, will deal with it accordingly. I hope this isn’t the case.

That's the problem- we conceded so many corners, eventually one or two will be successful. We've even scored from one this season!

We're a bit like a 5-a-side team that suddenly gets out muscled on a big pitch!

Anyone can tolerate being the victim of a cup upset.

However I cannot accept being outfought and outworked.

Effort should be the minimum requirement for a professional footballer.

What has happened to that team who were exciting us earlier in the season?

Even in defeat, say @ Sunderland we looked a bloody good side.

I really cannot understand it……

Injuries in key areas where we have no comparable replacement, over reliance on the one creative goal scorer in Dapo, teams see him as the player to double mark and foul, add to that teams have sussed that if they sit deep we don’t have the armoury to pick & pass snd then hit us on the break as we are porous. Confident it’ll get sorted with or without Evatt… hope it’s with him though.

Probably right re Brockbank. One thing with him though, he won't shirk.

We are a couple of first teamers short, but most in their last night were first picks. They were garbage though and that was a huge disappointment.

Perfect time for a bad result.

Shows the owners we need new bodies.

Happy with a mid table finish.

Wasn't gonna win the cup, its just a distraction.

Few quid in the bank.

No need to go OTT.

Chillax.

Key now is keeping it ticking until January

table wise it’s so tight both ends win the home games against Cheltenham & donny and it buys some breathing space

We've been shit since IE said we were the best team in the league

Something has gone wrong and it can't be a coincidence with the timing of the Sarcevic

So he needs to sort it out, that's his job, right now he's not doing a good one, but plenty credit in the bank and he's turned things round before

And Stockport's scoreboard is massive

Song choices by some of ours…

Who decides to counter the number of City fans in the audience by singing pro-United songs? Fucking dickheads, that’s who!

Also, a rendition of “Shannon Lomax, get out of our club” and “She’s got Chlamydia” come on people, we’re better than this.

Bolton fans joining in with “Bolton get battered…” is NOT irony, it’s embarrassing.

For the size of our support last night, it was woeful trying to get some SUPPORTIVE/ENCOURAGING songs going.

Sounds utter shite… glad I had an excuse not to go, some our fans IQ levels never seem to amaze.

Think we need give Amaechi a chance. 🤣

Lovely summers evening, wide pitch at Leyland ; world beater

Wnter evening under floodlights against stumpers ; ?

Ive seen enough! Ok I’m being harsh but I need to see more end product from the lad in future, I’m sure he will get more chances to prove me wrong and I really hope that he does.

Still struggling to understand that performance last night, honest assessment from Evatt after the match.

Everyone of them had a bad game, I'm not sure our form is down to the Sarcevic situation, i personally think our squad is threadbare and deprived of any depth and quality. Let's see what the January transfer window holds.

...... and if Brockbank can't get in the team at RB against a non-league outfit, surely there's no future for him here.

Isn’t Brocky injured at the moment?

No leaders and woefully lacking in strikers and midfielders

Jones, Williams, Doyle and Sarcevic all big misses

Hindsight, Baptiste should've been in last night

Anyway, I'm not arsed

I agree that it may have been IE making a point last night.

FV need to dig deeper to allow us to make the progress required.

im ultra confident that IE will sort if allowed to do so, he’s a young mgr still learning, but he’s hungry for success, we need to back him with cash.

Also, if u knew we would be mid table in L1 twelve months ago then who wouldn’t be fully behind IE now?

A very valid point, puts things into perspective.

Wish I wasn't arsed.

This mid table league position can disappear quickly.

Seen nothing since September to be a glass half full person

This is the perspective many are missing. Nobody is saying last night was acceptable and nobody is saying IE doesn’t have problems to address.

But there is acceptable criticism and then just plain old over-reacting. The over-reactors were no doubt calling for IE to be sacked this time last year.

And by overreacting I mean these types of comments;

Got a ticket but not going now; fuck the bottlers

IE has lost the dressing room

2 years on the team is hardly any better

naive owners who made the baffling decision to sack the club captain rather than the manager

he will be gone this season

Thomason can fuck off back to longridge town. Fucking shite.

happy to loose at Cambridge  Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Wigan, Plymouth, Portsmouth

There should be an IQ test before you can use Twitter.

It's hilarious to see City/Stockport fans invade the pitch after beating us, shows how far we've come since we last played. Hilarious watching Sarc destroy any chance of future work in and around the club once he's hung his boots up in a couple of years, be playing in the North West Counties, two bob cunt.

Feelings were running high all over last night.

Today it boils down to they wanted, needed it more than us. We vastly underperformed and they vastly over performed thanks to Sarc the Arse. Even when we were two up they weren't manufactured goals, they were results of defensive balls ups and we never looked like we were going to push on and finish then off.

We still have injuries and having to play people out of position.

It'll be reet.

This not being arsed is a bit of a mystery. If it was a second string side in the pizza cup, fine. But it wasn't, predominantly first choice players who seemingly couldn't be bothered.

Not the result per se, as on the day upsets happen, but the manner was just unacceptable.

It's not panic stations by any means, but something isn't right. If that is an issue with the manager and some players, then it needs resolving quickly. If that means a few go, so be it, but fv will need to spend a bit.

Recent performances haven't been good, though the second half against Crewe was much better and we deserved the win.

Come January, we don't want to be looking over our shoulders. If we want to attract better than we've got, then prospective players will surely be more comfortable if they can see the opportunity for a bit of a challenge at the top end like last year.

A team still lacking in belief and performing poorly just isn't as attractive.

We can’t keep saying we’re not bothered and It’ doesn’t matter.

Never mind it’s the Cup etc….

This just lowers the bar even further.

We lost comprehensively to a NL team at the end of the day.

And it’s clearly not just about this result in isolation.

The last month or so with the exception of Crewe has been appalling.

I keep saying it but IE’s teams go on massive runs, both here and at Barrow and that is very unusual.

Exactly and we weren’t that good against Crewe.

people who question your commitment as a supporter because you are sick of watching this shit are half the problem.

It's your choice whether to go to a game or not.

I don't go to anywhere like the number I used to, other things in life and frankly, after Parkyball and Megson I don't get the same level of enjoyment out of going as I used to. Been good this last year or so obviously.

Sometimes, if you're not enjoying it, a break is worthwhile.
