Take Hunt Off Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 The memorial bricks around Lofty’s statue are still in situ . Apparently they will be phase two of the replacement , no date yet given. My mates stone is in that area . Had a look at the replacement bricks Absolute quality. Quote

burnden Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Just heard the fella from Reebok Joe Foster on radio manc news saying he has been asked for years by the public to connect back with Bolton and he says he would love to now they aren't owned by adidas any more and the message has been sent. Cheese Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 It's mad what football does to your brain. I would absolutely cream myself if Reebok came back as stadium and shirt sponsor. Quote
Lt. Aldo Raine Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Reebok is on a par with the likes of Dunlop, Hi-Tech, and Slazenger these days One to avoid Quote

Went to the opening of the exhibition "Reebok and Norman Walsh: The Bolton History of the Running Shoe" exhibition in July. My dad (and another lurker on here 😊) as Horwich Harrier VIPs were given a VIP invite (+1 😊) Great evening and another part of history which makes our town so special. Despite the move to the USA the Fosters and the Reebok brand don’t forget their roots - they are Bolton through and through. It’s a great exhibition by the way. Quote

The fact is that Reebok was sold by Adidas for $2.5b only four years ago. It is however seen as an athletics brand not a footballing one. But it still dwarfs those other brands you mentioned. Quote

There's no doubt that they're not the same anymore, plus they're made in Vietnam and China. Can't envisage a scenario where they could come back neither. He'd have to buy the name for a start, and it might not be easy to get the quality association back. He'd probably have to start again. At 90 years old, he's going to need plenty of help! Quote

Tombwfc Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 It's a massive missed opportunity for the town that the football club has no association at all with the global sportswear brand that was founded here. Hopefully something gets sorted. Quote

Rebook workouts are rather popular amongst the naughty boy fraternity at the football. Or were a few years ago at least. On a similar note I see Asics have made some mad resurgence and are all the rage now with younguns. They were for the dossers when I was at school. Quote
