Swiss are happy to be Ticking along...No pun intended. Americans want the whole pie and usually get it.

Aren't quite a few of 'The Swiss' American anyway?

Their Benfica investment fell through

Presumably that means when we make Champions League there will be no Crystal Palace type conflict of interest. ? 😎

Benfica pulled out as they didn't want to part of a multi club ownership model.

If their experience is in maximising the potential of venues and improving fan experiences I'm in. While it's been masked to a degree by our progress on the pitch, some aspects of the match day offering need a major overhaul. Look forward to seeing their influence in due course.

Bit before my time but could easily be from what Ive seen!

Think this 'Swiss consortium' label must be sticking at their request, Iles still uses the term despite him being dead clear about who they are.

Nixon was calling this earlier in the week, lets see what it brings about. It'd appear to suggest the focus will be more about ways to maximise revenues and make best use of the stadium 👍

Gay American stuff incoming I suspect.

He's Canadian. Poutine at half time though wouldn't be so bad.

Don't get Sluffy going with SCR again FFS.

Just googled Tim Leiweke net worth. Top search brought up:

The estimated net worth of Timothy Leiweke is at least $367,027 dollars as of 2026-07-24.

A. Hope this is incorrect

B. If its not, then at least that covers McAtees wages this season.

If anyone hasn't yet done then I suggest now is a good time to put sluffy on ignore.

Only got yourselves to blame

Tomski said gay but other than that I very much agree

Come on @Sluffy what does this all actually mean?

Sorry been a bit busy today and just seen this.

I've had a quick look around and these are my thoughts.

From what I can see the Americans have made a minority investment into the club and one of them has become a Board member.

Now being on the Board means you you have been appointed in an 'advisory' role or that you are representing the 'money' that has been put into the business (which seems to be the case here).

How do you get money into the business?

Well you can buy shares in it - either off some existing shareholder or by buying newly issued shares - there is nothing showing at Companies House although that doesn't really mean much as FV have been months behind in their paperwork before.

They could put money into the company and secure it on FV's assets but that doesn't seem to me the best way for the Americans to make their money 'work' for them (they could get better returns elsewhere).

Another way is to provide a line of credit (as Moonshine operated for Eddie Davies to fund Burnden Leisure ), I would suggest this or something along these lines is what has happened - we won't know much until we are told or there are some sort of filings at Companies House.

What is the money for?

Well from what Iles cub reporter has reported in the BN it seems it is NOT for the transfer budget.

That we are NOT going to be part of a multi-club set up

So what is the money for then?

The only clue I can find is this -

"I’ve had the great honour of being a part of the development of The O2 and CoOp Live, two legends of UK live entertainment. I am excited to be joining a third legend in Bolton Wanderers," Leiweke added

Maybe the investment is to develop the land around the stadium - great motorway links, hotel nearby - that would be my sort of thinking at this stage.
