wanderer1984 Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 A few months ago my telly screen started to turn black when watching. It would start in all corners moving to the center till it was completely black. Looks turned off but can still hear the sound. It would work fine once turned off and on again for a week or so but tonight it's done it all fucking night. I've tried resetting the tv and cleaning out all the cable ends but nowt seems to be working. Time for a new one or is it fixable? Quote

It’s static moving across your screen. Quote

You're going to think I'm taking the piss, but I've done this with several "knackered" TV's that would have gone to to the tip otherwise. Remove the control board and put it in on a piece of cardboard, cover it with alumium foil, then stick it in the oven for 20 minutes on 200 degrees. It re-flows all the solder and makes it good as new. I promise. Quote

Some guy up Breightmet fixed it by replacing a board within the TV. £130. It's still going now 6 years on. Need a new one now really. Edit.. I think it was Video clinic... Would recommend Edited January 13, 2022 by stevieb Quote
