How do you define the best? Based upon four albums, or what they can do live? What is the artistry? Surely you'd be measuring the band in a performance; otherwise you're looking at songwriters and producers. I love The Smiths; the melancholy and comedy collide in a mesmerising way, but the footage I've been exposed to is dated. Sheds are one of the best gigs around. Stone Roses, Oasis, Courteeners have been meh on occasions I've seen them. I'd put them as one of the best British bands for their consistency playing live; performance and set list

Absolutely brilliant live and still packing gaffs out now.

Mantra
Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, The Kinks, Arctic Monkeys Some of my favourite songs ever are by Radiohead and Oasis but not got into them as much as the above ones. @deane koontz are you being serious or trolling you've never listened to a Beatles album?
