The aggressive way we play is great and exciting,  but pointless if you just fall into the trap too easily and gift wickets

Not seen it, but tms seemed to think all was fine.

That's the point though, they played positive cricket initially without losing their heads and were going along at 4 or 5 an over.

Aussies ran out of ideas, so resorted to the short ball stuff.

Rules don't permit every ball to be a bouncer, nor can the bowlers maintain in for very long. 

Can still leave the couple of genuine bouncers, and then milk the others for 3 or 4 an over.

Stokes has shown the necessary approach thankfully so we've still had a good day and are in a position to get something akin to their score, or even beyond.

Could have been much better though and who knows, could have gained a good sized lead before the pitch starts to deteriorate.

Mustn't forget the quality of the opposition neither- we were simply better than them but through stupidity or hubris have let them off the hook a bit.

Injuries happen. Archer and Leach could have made a difference to the result of the last match and this. 
Test Cricket is pretty demanding physically. Some times it goes for you, sometimes it goes against.

We have had a batsman injured too.

Commentators didn't think he seemed to be moving perfectly when he came out. 

Whatever the case, we must take advantage of whatever weakness it creates in the Australian attack.

Lyon has a strain not a tear which is good for them , it is a severe strain which is good for us as he is out of the game. 
 

With our long tail anything near parity would be good. Edit - getting within 50 would be a miracle .
