It really is a pivotal moment in the history of test cricket.

You’ve got Glen McGrath criticising the Aussies for not being more aggressive!  They are sending out an injured player  because they feel 350 is not enough!

Cook saying the rules may have to change.

He sees the Aussies going for short ball tactics from the off!

Because of what in particular?

Because short bowling seems to be the only way of dealing with aggressive (or in Australias case today defensive!) test cricket…. at the moment.

All this short ball shit is bollocks.

What do you do now if you’re England?  Aussies are going to come out bowling short. Do you leave everything like the aussies have tried to do today and play out for the most ridiculous draw ever. Or do you go for it?

There are plenty of overs left in the game for us to win, but I can see us being skittled cheaply going after the short ball.

Wait for the bad ball or the one that doesn't rise

Stark is lethal with this new ball, couple of absolutely unplayable balls

Bit like Atherton said, sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say there’s nothing you can do against world class bowling - certainly the case with that Starc ball that got Pope out.

Yeah no complaints with that wicket, world class bowling

Well who’d have thought it. Some well pitched, good, accurate, fast bowling and some conventional batting to start the innings off!

It's much more entertaining than what we had to witness earlier in the day

Ridiculous bowling

Nothing wrong with it, it's working. It's up to us to counter act it surely

Should have said ridiculously good bowling. No complaining they are showing their class. The balls to Pope and Brook would have done for most

Not quite the short stuff you said would happen! :)

Anyway, for the second game running we've fucked ourselves when in a good position.

No, not what I, or the professional analysts were expecting.

As said above no substitute for world class bowling.

While I’ve had some disagreeing debate with @Horwich, one thing I’ve agreed with him on is that the Aussies are the best in the world and they are doing what I expected them to do. No one to touch them on this form.

We just have to get better at executing the game plan against the best in the world, which I believe we will, but it will take time.
