Personally, having reflected on yesterday, I have some deeper thoughts, but I’ll probably post them later when I’ve more time. Serious question. What would you want to happen now? Would you stick with him? No issue if so, but what would be your tipping point? I'd stick with him till the end of the season. Tipping point would be not getting promoted. That's literally the only avenue he's got to continue our upward trajectory. Having said that, I'd never scream for him to go or wave an 'Evatt Out' banner. That sort of behaviour just isn't my bag. November 10, 20241 yr Seems to be a real struggle for some on here that wanting him gone doesn’t necessarily mean screaming for his head or producing banners. Also the thought that people are fed up because of a bad result. Trying to shoe horn fan blame in is weird. I’ve never known numbers like this for being outside the prem, let alone division 3
November 10, 20241 yr Tactically it’s all on evatt the blue print for beating us as Been the same for the last two seasons a high press . What as evatt done about it made it worse with is ridiculous 3 striker formation leaving us light in midfield. Then he bemoans what do people want me to do go long when we don’t have the players to play that way . well sign a couple of players to give you that option and outlet might help otherwise it’s going to continue Edited November 10, 20241 yr by Farnywhite
November 10, 20241 yr There was a time under Evatt that we were renowned for our pressing and winning the ball back quickly. Feels a long time ago now.

There’s losing, and then there’s losing. Add together the 4-0s and 5-0s we’ve had over the last few years and we’ve surrendered more times than the French. Yesterday really was one too far.

Whoever our next manager is, as long as we're in this division we'll lose 4 or 5 nill occasionally.

Tbh I’d be staggered if someone can come up with any stats where we’ve had anything close to so many stuffings over previous periods at this level. Genuinely don’t think we got battered this much even when we’ve fighting relegation in higher divisions.
November 10, 20241 yr As Ian Greaves said if you want entertainment go to the cinema if you want promotion I will do it my way sometimes you have to be solid at the back and do what you have to do to get promoted. when you get better players you get more entertainment. The system IE plays is not fit for this division some PREM teams/players struggle with this and make mistakes we need to get back to basics and get out of this division

Bruce Rioch and Phil Parkinson both got Bolton promoted from this division.Neither of them ever lost a league game 4-0 or 5-0 managing Bolton at this level.

Nor did Jimmy Armfield. Furthermore, only two managers in our history have managed our club in the third tier for a full season (46 games) or more, and failed to get us promoted: Phil Neal and Ian Evatt.

November 10, 20241 yr It’s management by numbers, the clock counting down to the 60-70 mark when he’ll make the same changes regardless of what’s happening on the pitch. I don’t think he’s capable of managing the game in front of him.

If we left him in post, then who knows it might get turned around. The job for the board is to balance that with the likelihood of us remaining in league one, and the need for us to get up (their stated aims). The odds have very much swung away from being promoted.

You know for a fact that there's more to it than that
