Brand Evatt

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled)

So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season.

In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons.

But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established.

Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level.

A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club.

I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

Seems to be a real struggle for some on here that wanting him gone doesn’t necessarily mean screaming for his head or producing banners.

Also the thought that people are fed up because of a bad result.

Trying to shoe horn fan blame in is weird. I’ve never known numbers like this for being outside the prem, let alone division 3

Tactically it’s all on evatt the blue print for beating us as Been the same for the last two seasons a high press .
What as evatt done about it made it worse with is ridiculous 3 striker formation leaving us light in midfield.
Then he bemoans what do people want me to do go long when we don’t have the players to play that way .

well sign a couple of players to give you that option and outlet might help otherwise it’s going to continue

There was a time under Evatt that we were renowned for our pressing and winning the ball back quickly. Feels a long time ago now.

Seems to be a real struggle for some on here that supporting a football team means you'll have to witness them losing sometimes.

Cheese, come on. There’s losing, and then there’s losing. Add together the 4-0s and 5-0s we’ve had over the last few years and we’ve surrendered more times than the French. Yesterday really was one too far.

TBF, we could fuck of to the cinema instead.

You could. Nobody's stopping you. 🤷‍♂️

I get it. But it's League 1. Whoever our next manager is, as long as we're in this division we'll lose 4 or 5 nill occasionally.

Tbh I’d be staggered if someone can come up with any stats where we’ve had anything close to so many stuffings over previous periods at this level.

Genuinely don’t think we got battered this much even when we’ve fighting relegation in higher divisions.

As Ian Greaves said if you want entertainment go to the cinema if you want promotion I will do it my way sometimes you have to be solid at the back and do what you have to do to  get promoted. when you get better players you get more entertainment. The system IE plays is not fit for this division some PREM teams/players struggle with this and make mistakes we need to get back to basics and get out of this division

Bruce Rioch and Phil Parkinson both got Bolton promoted from this division.Neither of them ever lost a league game 4-0 or 5-0 managing Bolton at this level.

Nor did we have such emphatic wins. Times change.

See above.

Nor did Jimmy Armfield. Furthermore, only two managers in our history have managed our club in the third tier for a full season (46 games) or more, and failed to get us promoted: Phil Neal and Ian Evatt.

Just as the Plymouth game at Wembley is shown as an example of being able to turn up in a big game, those emphatic wins are very much becoming the outliers at this stage.

It’s management by numbers, the clock counting down to the 60-70 mark when he’ll make the same changes regardless of what’s happening on the pitch.

I don’t think he’s capable of managing the game in front of him.

It was "If you want entertainment go to the Palladium" actually but a great quote to remember from a wise football man.

sure I've just seen on Faceache that there is an emergency meeting today,

No substance to the rumour though by the looks

Sure we had a couple 5-0 wins and put 4 past a few in the Rioch season at this level.

He knows it too.

A typical base dig as he won't admit to what is clear.

If we left him in post, then who knows it might get turned around.

The job for the board is to balance that with the likelihood of us remaining in league one, and the need for us to get up (their stated aims).

The odds have very much swung away from being promoted.

I don't keep tabs on who posts when but to imply that people are only calling for Evatt out because we lost yesterday is a bit daft I reckon. You know for a fact that there's more to it than that

Neither do I, it's just a noticeable trend. Yes, obviously there is more to it. I just think it would be daft to pot him now and I can't see it happening.
