Good summation that mate and it deserves a proper response rather than just "you're all just thickos"

To me this is an example of our over aspirational society and a blight brought about by poor central government decision making.

Blackpool and the Fylde grew as a holiday centre but suffered decline when the Great British Public discovered cheap air travel in the late 70s and could holiday in the sun.

Then in the 80s the Thatcherite Government fueled these aspirations with their “Right to Buy” policies which led to a big decline in LA Housing stock, this hole was steadily filled by private landlords and the previous guest houses were easy to convert to HMOs and accepted the DHSS and the like further destroying whatever holiday ambiance was remaining.

Then in the 90s European free movement became more prevalent especially from the east and was celebrated by the Government; the first wave of Polish were readily absorbed but then Europe expanded further east wards into Bulgaria and Romania. Poorly educated workers from these countries could earn on UK building sites the equivalent of a surgeon or architect back home.

A gap was opening up in our labour market as the Blair Government further fueled aspirations by stating every UK citizen “had a right” to a Degree level education, the result of this was a decline in youngsters wanting to take up trade apprenticeships and the like, thinking “work” was below them. This hole in the by the workforce was filled by eastern Europeans.

Successive Governments have embarked on various middle eastern adventures such as the second Iraqi war, Libya and trying to tame Afghanistan where the Russia had previously failed leading to instability and increase in refugees. All this is happening as the aspirational classes wanted their cocaine fixes, manicures and cars washing… all open to under the radar Immigrant businesses.

Then came the referendum, supposedly about EU membership but hijacked by popularist jingoism, people refused to look at themselves in the mirror but wanted to blame others for what was happening.

All subsequent Government time was spent on “getting Brexit done” and the problems I have highlighted were ignored and allowed to manifest, add to this two years of the UK workforce tossing it off during Covid and expecting to continue this way and still have new cars and foreign holidays and we are where we are.

What next?

Without proper devolution and letting Local Authorities taking charge again things ain’t going to get better. I look at the hasty legislation being touted now with regards to planning, terrorism and immigration and wonder. I have long been of the opinion Westminster should be closed as our seat of government as it is too disconnected. In addition we are joining in further funding eastern states by gifting them expensive weaponry at the cost of our relationships with the super-powers.

Its no bloody wonder the economy is flat lining and everyone is pissed off.

You're all just thickos.

It’ll be interesting to see what sentence he gets.

Just look at those harmless NHS / teacher types cheering as he says “slit their throats”

You and Cheese should swap profile photos. Your ‘irony’ is exposed but it would fit in well with his views. 😉

Their families need to be exposed and shamed, the victim's families have been unfairly thrown into the media spotlight.

I'd emigrate to Oz tomorrow, but they won't have me.

Migrants or white trash?

Given it is 3 kids one of which is a girl and all migrants are men of fighting age, can only assume it is the latter.

Go on a dinghy and dump your passport on the way.

They'll stick you in a hotel and provide you with your own bank card with weekly allowance on and 3 square meals a day.

Do a bit of cash in hand for uber eats and sell a bit of a beak to bump your dosh up.

You'll get free dental care and doctors appointments, taken to and from in taxis fully provided.

Take the grandkids and get them enrolled in the local school too.

Sounds ace doesn't it :)

Heard a tale this morning about a doctor/nurse type vaccinating migrants in hotels for tb, with some apparently with the illness being free to walk about.

Not sure how accurate that is, but a quick glance says that upon arrival, they're offered a health check and subsequent treatment as required.

Makes sense, except that I can't find any reference to it being compulsory.

So it does seem quite possible that infected people are allowed into the wider communities.

Then commit some crimes and avoid deportation by saying you can't go back because you've forgotten how to speak English

I'd be absolutely amazed/horrified if people with untreated TB are being allowed to walk around in public.

The guidance is that you're required to self isolate until 2 weeks after treatment has started and then (providing all your markers are moving in the right direction) you are reassessed and may be allowed to break isolation. I would imagine that immigration are hyper vigilant for this type of thing.

It's the ones bypassing immigration services If be concerned about.

The bigger problem is UK citizens travelling to high risk locations abroad unvaccinated and then bringing the diseases back with them.

Is it a bigger problem than getting a vaccine, and then having Bill Gates and/or the Illuminati tracking your every movement? - you do know that all vaccines have nano-bots in them, so you're constantly monitored, no matter where you are on the globe flat earth

Clearly not that big a problem Sweep, no. Which is why I advocate that nobody should ever get vaccinated 😁

Jesus Christ. Of course poverty is the biggest issue. I could write a book on the place and why it's in the state it's in.

Pouring migrants into the place is making it worse.

The wrong type of migrants especially.

It's really not hard to grasp is it ffs.

'The wrong type.'

Aye ok then. Its this sort of narrative that divates the discussion

As I said no one is dismissing there are issues, but its the way 'ive seen this, so it's all true' bollocks gets taken on board by so many. You are blaming one thing for a plethora of issues, and in that way its just too simple and narrow a focus. Its also why Populists get away with conning the public.

Anyway, you have your truth, im just simply asking for a wider acknowledgement of the vast range of social ills in the poorer parts of the country, rather than we've got the wrong immigrants.
