I suppose Reform are at least being honest with people about the need to raise taxes for public services. Even if it's at odds with their manifesto (which I assume is anti tax). Quote

Not in Crawley Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 We have to get over this Thatcherite dead loop of raising taxes being bad. We want better services, better and cheaper transport links, places that are suffering economically to do better, more houses then we need to collectively invest as a country. The Government is currently in a position of strength given the majority. Make the case for an increase, what is means and what the outcomes are and do it. Labour need to stop being so timid around this subject otherwise nothing is going to change. Quote

They are fair points that you make I know that it’s currently a stick to beat Labour with but their comms are very poor, so unless they improve, folk won’t buy in because they don’t really understand the benefits. And not because they are all thickos Quote

They’re only fucking off because they’re being asked to tip a few more quid back to the very country that has allowed them to flourish and earn such piles of money in the first place. I’d rather have fucking immigrants than people who’ll turn their back on their own when the going gets tough. Churchill would have paid their fares to fuck off, he didn’t like traitors either. Quote

Dimron Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Tax just needs to be fairer. The self-made industrialists escape PAYE... they set their salary just below the NI threshold and take the rest in dividends. Then there's the Doug Barrowmans who hide the IOM and put their earnings into offshore bank accounts. All these "wealth creators" squirrel the money away and avoid contributing to the society they claim to love. And then you have the global companies who trade in the UK destroying the markets of domestic traders and pay taxes overseas. Quote

The nation will agree and it'll take the wind out of the sails from fringe parties like Reform and the Tories. Be more bold, and stop at the next election- we have four years! Quote

The middle class of every western economy are the drivers of the economy. Small to middle business, keeping people in their town without having to leave. Those sat on millions are driving nothing but the same people, from the same places, from the same background, from the same education, going into the same jobs and they are laughing at us because they dont want or need change.
