Agreed. Who cares what someone said 50 years ago or even 5 weeks ago. There’s no cut off is there. It’s all in the past. #witchhunts

Sentencing for noncing and violent crimes are a joke in this country. Likely do more time getting rumbled flogging dodgy fire sticks

Aren't judges given guidelines for what they can send people down for? I know Magistrates are when it comes to handed out punishments

So if he got sent down for 50 years, which we all would like, he could appeal and get two years maybe

Is it the Judge's fault?

Nope, it'll be Starmer or Lammy's fault :)

Anyway, part of the punishment should be chemical castration, on top of whatever custodial sentence he's given

This is where the appeals needs to be looked at, you get your sentence and that’s it, if the judges are supposed to know what they’re doing then what’s the grounds for appeals? Nobody shagging an 11 year old girl should get the right to appeal in my eyes. No doubt some will say “human rights” but human rights can get to fuck in situations like this

Whatabout, whatabout

You say Judges should know but they can only give a sentence in line with the guidelines and if a jury finds them guilty then they act accordingly

You can't deny an appeal for anyone convicted of a crime just because you dont like it

Nothing to do with human rights but surely you agree everyone should be entitled to a fair trial? If that means someone gets accused of under age sex when they didn't, do you expect them to just shrug their shoulders, go off to prison with the nonce tag?

There’s no whatabout there cocker. You’ve already said judges know better than us on previous threads so why would you question them now.

Which part of this trial wasn’t fair?

Have i said judges know better other than knowking the law much better. What im saying is if they are found guilty judges pass down the sentence in accordance with the guidelines

I've no idea whether the trial was fair or not

That wasn't the point I was making

Why wouldn’t they be getting fair trials?

I never suggested they weren't

You said everyone should be entitled to a fair trial. Where in the U.K. isn’t this happening?

Everyone does have the right to a fair trial

You also have the right to appeal a trial decision

You shouldn't be able to pick and choose which trials that relates to

Whether that appeal is successful is another matter

They do, where in the U.K. isn’t that happening is what I asked.

Your words, I never said anyone is getting the right to an appeal is not happening

I think you’re confusing yourself here. Let’s try for a third time. Where in the U.K. aren’t they getting fair trials.

I'm sure I read somewhere that they were considering trialling this as part of prisoner's release conditions. Voluntary though - not imposed. Presumably for a lighter sentence?

Having said that - it may have just been a fever dream.
