18 months is fuck all, bite the bullet and take great pleasure in fucking them off. 18 months is Jan 2016, right after Xmas when everyone is tightening their belts and fucking off things like Sky.

This is the thing

I don't even want to cancel and I never ring up trying to get a better deal.

The only reason I would cancel is if I move abroad, which im not going to.

but however way you spin this they have tricked me into having an 18 month deal.

I don't like that.

Honestly think im going to pay the contract up in full and send them the box and remote back recorded delivery telling them they have lost a customer for life.

It looks like there's no cooling off period on re-contracts.

hmm

was going to suggest looking into this but it doesn't mention when you are "renewing"

http://whatconsumer.co.uk/cooling-off-and-cancellations/#.U9D5U9JDvTc

"The purchase of goods and services over the internet, by phone or by mail order generally is subject to the Distance Selling Regulations. One of the most important implications of these regulations is a cooling off period of 7 days during which you have the right to cancel."

first couple of forums that looked at suggest it happens a lot but most just lump it

http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?290101-Internet-subscription-renewals-and-distance-selling-regulations

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4512921

suspect you have 2 choices:

1) lump it (then fuck them off when it's up and let them know why, and let them know now you'll be doing it)

2) cancel direct debit, fuck them off and risk the un paid debt route which might end up with you in court demanding justice and getting it or you ending up with a fine and sky till dec 2016

i've got no idea on point 2, i made it up, quick research suggests most folk go with option 1

cunts eh

i keep meaning to ring orange and ask why I get charged every month for extra data than what i'm allowed on my plan, even though my phone data usage has shown me as not going over the limit for a few months

The cooling off period if only while having a new contract while joining TV or Talk and Broadband.

There is no cooling off period for renewing contract.

Me 13:33
Ok. Can you show me where it states this in the terms and conditions?

Me 13:33
specifically the last bit you said

Kushal13:34
It is not there.

In sky's defence Garp mate I have just pressed the red button and it gave me 2 options...

1- get it for free with no conditions

2- get free broadband for 24 months on an 18 month contract

However I was wary of it and double checked it after your experience

They should still offer a cooling off period though
