  1. only two of them words describe him accurately to be honest. you can decide which two.
  2. Names on the back of shirts and number 48 playing centre half
  3. aye, that and Joyce.
  4. yep, they're hated when they show up around towns and villages across Ireland, way worse than here, for yeas it was the main type of "racial tension/ violence" partly due very few immigrants into Ireland, but, even in this day and age, you will find pubs across rural Ireland in particular, with signs on the doors saying "No travellers" and in some cases "no knackers" which is the equivalent derogatory term to pikey and a sign that used to make me laugh immaturely any time i saw it. and even if they smartened up and tried to get in, their accent would give them away, even in Ireland, as although it seems they have an Irish accent, it is very distinct how travellers talk and different from the general accents. although, when they have the taveller fights between families to settle disputes, the guards usually let this go on un bothered
  5. never bought my for myself, only for her, and before you think, ah well that's a start, them items were some maternity bras and some sort of special stockings/tights when she was in hospital after having a caesarean, and i felt a right idiot asking for them too. Too many questions from the assistant for my liking "what size is she normally?" how many cups do you think she's gone up because these are measured from the original size etc etc" I'm stood there thinking " fuck knows, just give me a set of what she told me, put em in a plain bag and let me get the fuck out of here"
  6. bit harsh that, the lads obviously a Bolton fan, i was born /raised in Bolton to Irish parents, am I a fenian tosser or a Bolton fan just like you?
  7. unless you wore glasses
  8. very good that I thought.
  9. That one is easy enough to sort out, you can watch that in Manchester, but if you want to see a "proper" county game in Ireland, the all ireland championship has just finished,so only league games from now until next summer which aren't quite the same occasions, but next summer, if you find yourself with a free weekend and happen to be able to get to Ireland, give me a shout and I'll sort you some tickets out for a match no problem.
  10. I had a sedona until very recently and have to agree they are great, 7 adults in no problem plenty of room, can pick up decent aged one for a few grand, dont pay any attention to the badge snobs like Clarkson who will tell you it's a tank this and korean that, they are great value for what you pay and a great reliable drive. if you want a cheaper option, and you don't mind two of the 8 seats being lap belt only, get a toyota lucida or previa, I had one of these for years and never missed a beat, age of them usually varies as imported and usually all on M N and K plates but you could pick a good one of these up for around a grand. dont know where you live but the garage on radcliffe moor rd, opposite the sparking clog has a good few and theres loads on e bay in any case.
  11. http:// http:// this one would suit you better

don't know if you know Shamrock Rovers, but believe me it wouldn't, don't let the twee name lull you into thinking their fans are "top of the morning sir ah begorrah" types who ride horses and carts, they have a large element of complete dickheads that latch onto them.
  13. No, and I agree, f?ckin stupid, I got pulled for saying " does your mrs work round here too? " (in a conversation about getting to and from work), apparently, I shouldn't have called her "mrs" and I shouldn't have referred to her using the word "your", as that indicates ownership It wasn't him who complained, some lesbian bint overheard and actually reported it to HR, which was bad enough, but then they were f?ckin stupid enough to e mail me and ask me to come in for a chat about it, nothing disciplinary like, but just a reminder about equal rights policies and all that shite. dicks. thanks for posting this subject, rant over feel better now
  14. no offence mate, but I've been absolutely pissed out of my tree on many many occasions, done some stupid things, including driving once when I was about 22 that ended with the car in a ditch sideways, but, no matter how pissed I was, even to the point of seeing green men from fucking mars, I still wouldn't ever be pissed enough to put cinnamon (or whatever the fuck it was)in my gob and film it at put it on the internet. imagine what stupid things you would do if you did drink
  15. feathers-bottom bull-top bull-bottom bull-feathers, and when feeling particularly like we wanted something exotic and posh (and the 523 was going past) we would include the three arrows ah, halcyon days of youth excitement
  16. Parking was free plus, i introduced another little wanderer to his first ever match and he enjoyed it, mesmerised in fact, even with the low crowd and poor match. so, just when I'd got rid of bringing the oldest (own season ticket with mates now, too cool to go with me) , I'm now back to bringing two little uns to the match, hoping to have a pint at the match sometime around 2025
  17. owd on, your boss had you working under the conveyor, then needed to turn it on, but then expected you to work under it while it was running, with the shite falling off it? on a day the HSE were due on site? or have I read that wrong?
  18. Happily married for a year. been married for ten like but happily for one of em
  19. an ex girl friend couldn't grasp why the lights on my car worked during a power cut. serious question: " if all the electric has gone off what's making the car lights work ?" me: "the battery in the car" her: " yeh, but where's that getting it's electric from?"
  20. well done to her, that's a great achievement and experience for her. nothing better as Dad seeing em do well. well done
  21. on that video, he seems to have black gloves while he's dancing and acting the cock outside the ring, but red gloves when he climbs into the ring, is it two separate fights that someone has merged to make him look even moe of a tw?t or is it just the light as he's walking in?
  22. never went in the 70's, due to the fact i wasn't allowed because my old fellas mate used to run the Rose Hill in them days, and wouldnt let me go because of the trouble he saw, my dad and another mate used to do "unofficial security" for him on match days, not stood on the door or owt but free ale while in and "asking people to leave" when they got to excited. he said the worst he ever came into contact with was forest with Sheff utd a close second, he says the mouthiest in the pub but the easiest to get rid of were the scousers of both varieties, all mouth and skin and bones he reckoned. this was just in that pub, don't know how that relates to the terraces at the time, but still have vivid images of one day he came home, half cut, sitting on the kitchen chair drinking from a bottle of guinness and eating a lamb chop while my mam picked bits of glass and pool cue splinters from the back of his neck, apparently caused by some "dirty sly toothless Nottingham b?stard" other than tv, that was my only experience of 70's violence
  23. aye, or maybe the bullshit today forum, who knows
  24. may not even be that, think they have a little ratchet on the pedal that may have just slipped, used to happen all the time on transit vans, may need just putting back in at the top of the pedal. then again, it might be fucked
  25. went on a course run by the police about this, healthy body breaks down and gets rid of alcohol at approx 1 unit per hour from 20 mins after you start drinking,as you continue drinking more units go in but the rate of breakdown slows slightly but is still around 1 per hour. (this is why if you gulp 10 pints in an hour youll be a lot more pissed than someone who had ten pints over the course of an afternoon say)" average" pint measurement is 2 units and the "safe" amount to have in you system is roughly equivalent to 1/1/2 pints so say 3 units. ( all basic to explain not scientific) if you had a drink at 8pm and had 6 pints, 12 units, so thats 12 hours from 20 past 8 before you would have none, or as near as damn it (you cant actually have no alcohol in your system). I and others on the course were thinking, actually, thats not too bad, with you being allowed a bit and it breaking down while your still drinking etc, but, we were told, the two unit a pint thing is crap, based on old type beers, most are more like 3 -3.5, that there's no such thing as a "perfectly healthy body" and some can take up to an hour just to start breaking down alcohol ( it was explained as the reason you see some people get pissed quick but then dont get any worse during the night) and it can take up to an hour and half rather than an hour, plus all the usual if you smoke/eat chips dont exercise stuff, then its worse still, your soon running into the middle of the next morning before your safe to drive after a few pints. the advice given, was not to drink the night before your driving early, or if you had to, to count a unit per hour from 20 mins after you have finished drinking and you should be ok.
