A fine point maybe but Ched Evans, in a retrial, was found not to be a rapist. Just sayin'.

  • When he starts picking it up we've got problems

  • In fairness that may be down to what’s in his contract. A lot of companies consider it gross misconduct and can sack you for being convicted of a crime like this. Its discretional. Personally, I

Great fighting spirit. Would be happy with 11 Kyles!

Are they all going to need their dad to help them out? 😉

You're mistaken. I said people declaring "Randell Williams is fucking shit" within minutes of him coming on were morons, but one of them threatened to smash my head in so I've climbed down on that one.

Im not mistaken, pages and pages of comments you made stated what i said about Bolton fans being morons. Anyway, thats gone, what your take on the Demps, keep him or not? Mine is to keep him. Ched Evans was a rapist, and turned it round, thats on a different scale to Demps.

Pretty sure if we sack him the PFA will be all over it and we would probably end up paying is contract up and he would sign for some one else on a free with a hefty signing on fee to boot

It would, without doubt, qualify as 'Gross Misconduct'. So if the club did decide to do that they can, legally, without notice. No pay off.

They won't, & I hope they don't, but they could.

It wouldn't be for PR purposes alone though- no employee is above the club's own rules.

Players are fined for missing training, getting sent off, or drink driving etc.

If he's breached the terms of his contract, and it is a serious offence, then they must act, or it makes a mockery of the professionalism they expect.

I'm sure they will do something, but if they choose to keep it in house then that's up to them.

Pretty sure that’s right but once the lawyers get involved they could come up with some bullshit that gets us to pay is contract up to stop a legal wrangle.  player actually ends up making on it all when he signs for another club and we loose a good player and a transfer fee

It wont benefit, as a club, to get rid of him. It will need some good PR work from Bolton now, it will all be forgot about in a couple of weeks. Its a scrap in a bar, happens every weekend in every town, time to move on!

Don’t know the details on this one. But the replies underneath don’t look great for the night games 😩

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere, haven't read much on it, but it also rules out staying overnight for night matches - he'll have a rush to get to Bristol for a 12 noon KO!  Not to mention Plymouth in play offs.

I would like him to stay and redeem himself on and off the pitch. But I would also understand entirely if his contract was terminated.

Whatever the wrongs or right, we need him, hes our most influential midfielder.

No doubt, and I hope he stays and succeeds. I rate him highly.

That said if he was sent packing, the club would continue, and we'd soon get over the disapppointment.

he's been punished by the law, no need for the club to punish to imo

I've no feeling on that either way, but making himself unavailable for night matches/overnight stays through his own stupid actions, whilst getting paid a full wage doesn't feel right.

There are two night matches left. Didnt feel right for me when a certain player of ours got a 3 match ban and got paid, through is own stupid actions! It is what it is!

He was probably at the match and a few ales to the wind at the time and typed what he'd say to anyone at the match. His opinion. Think you two should pm each other again and make up...... it's only a matter of time. Someone's got to make the first move, be the bigger man and all that.

Are you suggesting players who receive bans for red cards etc. shouldn't be paid during the duration of their ban?

He'll be allowed to play them as it's his job, Curfew's allow people to go to work. Not like he's unsupervised...

Watched the cctv clip doesn’t look good he well lost it and he’s lucky not to be sentenced to prison.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a club fine but cannot see the club sacking him.

If he wasn't a footballer, there'd not be this clamour for him to lose his job.

cancel culture..

People don't really think about how important peoples jobs are to them..

Having watched the CCTV I have to commend the Cumbrian police for their surprisingly prompt response. If anyone reports a crime in progress around here they generally rock up a week or so later.

Almost seems like a set-up how fast they got there.

You cannot claim to have built a culture, sustain a culture like we have had since the revolution and then ignore the Dempsey incident. The board have a big decision to make.

He’s been playing well but culture is more important

What better way to demonstrate the culture of the club than to support his rehabilitation? He's been sentenced and now he will need support, part of supporting inclusivity is to support people who have made mistakes to improve themselves. This is assuming he wants to do the work on his anger management issues, if he's saying to the club "I'd do it again, prick deserved everything he got" then that would be different. He's been found guilty but now he repays his debt and we support him through it .
