A fine point maybe but Ched Evans, in a retrial, was found not to be a rapist. Just sayin'.

  • When he starts picking it up we've got problems

  • In fairness that may be down to what’s in his contract. A lot of companies consider it gross misconduct and can sack you for being convicted of a crime like this. Its discretional. Personally, I

They’ll of known all this for a while.

That may be, but he clearly bullshitted them initially, and they made a statement backing him up and proclaiming his innocence.

Absolutely

I don't. As I said, it may be the case that they've known the truth for a while. The CCTV was only released today though.

Can he play with a tag on ? Also the curfew is going to course problems or does it not count if it’s work related

Players have played with tags before. Nobody knows for sure yet whether the curfew will affect his availability.

An application can be made to suspend it during periods of employment but it'd require judicial approval

I think the point made by @Cheese is porobably the most relevant now

The point about the extent of the club's knowledge of the incident, I mean

It would appear the moral compass of some posters has been skewed here because he’s our player….

Definitely. Mine included. The tone would be massively different if the Guilty party was James McClean...

Well if we sack him he will only Rock up at Wigan next season.
So the club will fine him the max they can I would of thought and Neil will send him on anger management and drink  counciling course

I imagine they'll be able to sort the tag thing so he can play. This is what the BBC story says:

They must also complete 200 hours' unpaid work as well as serve night-time curfews, which can be varied in Kyle Dempsey's case in the light of any "employment issues"

He absolutely cannot cross the line again now otherwise he'll have the book thrown at him. He'll know that, his family will know that and any responsible employer would be seeking assurances along the same lines. I hope he plays against Oxford.

If the cctv of Dempsey being sparked out was available you might take a different viewpoint , not to diminish what he did of course.

He has been punished by the law .If it impacts on his playing availability the club might take a hawkish view , I hope not.

There you go bringing shithousery into the discussion

As well as the 'tag' there is also the 200 hours of Unpaid Work, his employment will be taken into consideration as to which days he can do it, if he misses twice for no acceptable reason he could go back to court and the prison sentence invoked, The Unpaid Work is as important as the 'tag'

I’m not sure mine has. I’d not care if it was another club and for us he’s been playing well so I’d not want him in prison.

He's been dealt with by the law. Time to move on.

Yep.

Not like he's bummed anyone

There'll be another Prem player up for something before we know it

Some bloke knocked Kyle out on the street and legged it into that club.
Kyle and his dad went after him 5 mins later, doorman blocked his entry by gripping him by the throat leading to Kyle punching him.

Fair points of defence, but it apoears he didn't punch him, he fckg lathered him (hence 'lost it').

Lucky, lucky now. Club will undoubtedly give him a fine and probably a few shifts with the Community Trust but all in all it’s a result from our point of view.

Remember John Terry years ago, similar video, an Irish player took the rap for him, I can't remember his name. Although I think Terry's punch up was off camera, or wasn't shown, He went on to Captain club and country.
