All down to having a midfielder that can turn, face and create. We are desperate for a ball carrier.ย

or even be on the half turn as it comes to him....

It would make our lives a little bit easier.

They're in the mud either way, the new EFL rules have banned towels and are trying to reduce time wasting.

They're fucked.

Strange one - Martin plays football like Evatt does, straight out of the Pep school of coaching all about possession and passing etc..

Duff is a good manager but he hardly fits that mould, based on what heโ€™s done with Barnsley - I canโ€™t see him slotting in to carry on the job that Martinโ€™s done at Swansea, it looks more like a change in approach to get the man they want rather than find the man to suit the approach.

Good for us though as it should weaken Barnsley.

Aye. Thought theyโ€™d of banged down the door to get IE. Unless they simply think Duff is better. Think he lives in Cheltenham.

Awful Football Duff teams, terrible to watch, 4 of the 5 games against us last season were mind numbing.ย

Shows the power of our ownership Group and the bond theyโ€™ve got with Evatt (and the clever ways in which theyโ€™ve incentivised him with shares etc) that I was never worried weโ€™d lose him - if it was all a normal set up and relationship then Iโ€™ve no doubt that Swansea would be after him and I think Evatt would see Swansea as a good chance of getting to the Prem.

As it is, heโ€™s taking us there instead.

I may not like Duffs football but like Warnes itโ€™s effective and certainly if he does leave which is pretty nailed on to me, it will definitely weaken the Tykes. Theyโ€™re pretty much certain also to lose a couple of their best players so Iโ€™m not sure how much of a threat theyโ€™ll be next season anyway?

Duff leaving Barnsley will throw a spanner in their works at just the wrong moment. Perhaps of as much significance is the turmoil at Reading just now - no manager, EFL all over them as regards their finances. They're currently in paralysis too. Without that they'd have been a challenger.ย

Most active in the decision so far this season have been Pompey and Oxford. The latter are working from a fairly low base, the former were pretty strong already. I have to say though the signings they've made don't strike me as being any more than solid/modest improvement.ย

Even though the fixtures its still very early days though....

Not for automatic but fleetwood have made a couple of decent signings could be an outsider for play offsย

I reckon there's going to be a fair number of decent teams without there being an outstanding team looking at signings clubs have made.

We're going to have to be consistent to come out at the top end of it all

I agree, I think L1 next year will be far more competitive and even than it has for the last few years with the promotion of the likes of Wendies, Ipswich and Sunderland. Obviously there are still some big fish like derby, Pompey, Charlton and ourselves but I donโ€™t see record points totals this year so if we can just add that bit of quality and consistency we should be well set for a tilt at the automatics.

When did calling Sheff Weds 'Wendies' become a thing, makes my teeth itch.

Like calling Ipswich 'Ipshit' or Crystal Palace 'Crippled Alice'.

Crippled Alice๐Ÿ‘I like that๐Ÿ˜€
