The Managerial Roundabout

Shrewsbury potting Cotterill is an odd one,

Spurs possibly seeking a new manager around Christmas, not sure how he will do.

Gerrard to Leeds is rumoured.

Uri Geller to Wigan?

I know he’s not a manager but Standard Liege fans seem gutted we’ve got Fergal Harkin to the extent that some are saying he saved them from relegation despite having no budget. Sounds positive.

  • Are you serious? The guy brought us some fucking brilliant moments  that we’ll never forget. Yeah, it didn’t end up great but ffs.

Well if they can bring some stability behind the scenes, that could be a start

But the team needs investment and a fresh approach

(I didn't even know you had new people in charge, presumed it was the same folk that hired and fired the last few managers)

Squad / Team is a mass, a proper mess. Some decent players, but not enough, and it has no balance.

It's what happens when you let so many managers / directors / chairmen / DOF all purchase playeys.

Had it not gone so bad with Dyche, they would have stuck with him while they get the off-field stuff sorted, but had to make a change now, it had dropped off even worse recently.

Suspect we get a new manager bounce with Moyes / safe hands for 6 months.....maybe he gets next season...or they gut us and re-start the whole football system in the summer with new DOF & Thomas Frank or similar head Coach type.

Finances look better, and with new ground naming rights yet to be announced, they atleast look a bit more astute financially.

I love the stat that Craig Dawson of Wolves is Everton's 2nd top league scorer with 2.

Moyes is getting a 2.5yr deal.

As ever, I've never heard of him. He could be God's gift or a cock of over-rated shite. Time will tell.

If Wycombe still manage to get promoted it will be some going

Another championship club overlooking Evatt's win percentage

Maybe Wycombe will come in for Evatt 🤣

We'd know Morley was staying!

Strange that lots of jobs have come up in the championship and Evatt never been poached ?

Sharon did say previously, that they had turned down approaches from higher league clubs.

So not only will we keep him despite all the arguments to get rid, we've turned down money for someone to take him.  The decision making by FV, on the managerial situation and on incoming transfers, leaves a lot to be desired and has effectively cost them millions in fees and salaries.

The Oxford one that took them up last season is available, and would be starting a lot higher up the table than they did.

He took over with them second in the table, above us, didnt he?

I stand corrected, I thought he'd taken over when they'd gone a bit crap in the early part of 2024.

Fair enough - he didn't too quite as good a job as I thought!  They were bloody awful in that 5-0 game (not taking anything away from our great performance).

Barrow have sacked manager Stephen Clemence. Currently 17th in the 4th tier.

Looks an ideal doer-upper for the right guy.

  • 2 weeks later...

Never heard of him but apparently he's been caretake manager of Sunderland 3 times, that has to be fairly unique.  And we thought SS wasn't given much of the transfer window to work with!

Seems a really odd shout. Has followed the Bellingham’s about and was there youth team coach. Sunderland fan I know said he was ridiculously out of his depth.
