The goal they had a goal chalked off was for a penalty that they scored so no impact whatsoever. They are posting pictures of the handball before the corner too.

They had one shot on target in the whole game and that was the penalty. Did you go to the game at their place last year ? Played us off the park. Saturday they were totally reliant on set pieces and scrapping and claiming for stuff in the area. The fact Santos did not get a yellow card for a challenge that was not even a foul makes no sense.
Apparently Big Vic was pulling the guys shirt for the penalty but they rarely get given, again hardly a sign the ref was 'for or against' anyone.

Extended highlights from Derby and Sheehan is fouled in area, their commentators do not raise an issue. The so called missed penalties do not even make their edit.
On the sending off no idea where you sit  in the ground but the first challenge on Big Vic the legs are wrapped around him, even though he gets the ball it is a foul, the follow up shot the keeper spreads himself and the ball goes off his chest into his arm, we were side on to it and looked a pen every day, the view we had was clearer than the instagram image that shows the initial touch on the chest.

They can cry as much as they want but they were a shadow of the team we played last year, that is their problem not a few decisions they did not like.

Thanks for posting the highlights, 1st time I've seen any.

Agreed no impact on result of disallowed goal, I was just mentioning the gripes their fans had, obviously if they'd missed the pen they would have had far greater reason to complain.

Not disputing anything about their lack of shots on target, very poor.

No I didn't go to Derby, my brother went and he said we were well beaten.

I'm not saying for a minute Santos should have been booked, I was sat in ESL towards North Stand (not my usual seat) so didn't have a good view, was just saying that I held my breath because the ref was giving penalties, sendings off etc and if it had been a foul we were looking at 2-2 and 10 v 10 instead of 2-1 and the extra man.

The Big Vic shirt pull was as blatant as you'll  get, right in front of the ref.  I'm not having that they don't get given, it was stupid and was deservedly punished, hopefully he's learned his lesson without it costing us points.

Anyway, we won, its done, they can have their moans and we'll look forward to a break and then Reading.

Not seen anything about their lad that went off injured in first half...

He looked in a right pickle.

Jake Rooney, their manager said he'd be going for a scan today and he wasn't expecting good news.  Fingers crossed for him, looked nasty given there was nobody near him.

.

Dunno about that

Was there myself, we did our usual of having more of the ball, passing it around a lot and not creating much, but we weren't battered or out played by any stretch

It will be interesting to see if their appeal works.

Is there some evidence that he definitely didn’t handle it because from what I’ve seen it seems pretty nailed on and the ref even confirmed it with the linesman?

Red card rescinded on appeal.

I read "Rooney has done his ACL & strained his PCL as well as a bit of damage to the cartilage. Out for the season, at best".

Derby hammered us. When the board went up for something like 4 mins and 2-0 down, I just wanted to go home. Only when Sads pulled one back we wanted 8+ mins

We stayed over that weekend & we spoke to a few Derby that evening who were very hopeful of promotion.

We were easily beaten and it was that game that made me realise how far off we were last season.

We actually ended up finishing above them though!!!!

Deservedly so - it hit him square in the chest. We rode our luck but hey ho - thanks for the points.

Each to their own I thought Derby should of been down to 9 for having them boring fucking accents. Shouldn’t be allowed to travel

ACL and out for the season. At the time seemed really innocuous - he just stood on the ball.

Shit first touch caused him to then try and stop the ball going out for a corner.

Just goes to show how easily it can happen. One of my lads did both knees before he was 20 and the specialist told me that 95% of folk who do ACLs are prone to hyperextension in their knees - something that can be identified at birth or in a medical before anything happens by checking the natural range of movement. It's affectionately known as "banana knees". If they hyperextend and the knee locks and then get an impact or twist, the ACL pops. Apparently women are more prone to it than men.

They must surely check for banana knees in the medical before a player is signed, but I guess that just identifies that the player is at higher risk of doing his ACL - so not a reason in itself not to sign him. Even so, I'd be upping the insurance :)

Its almost as if this game never happened.

Mad really.

It’s a combination of 3 things for me. We can’t deny the “social media, reality tv type world” we live in now, where you’re only as good as your last moment in time.

That combined with high expectations and the over-critical/expert football fan means defeats are analysed/over analysed to death.

Wins, consistency, goals, clean sheets are expected. I get it, any deviation from this as a team aiming for the top two, is going to be criticised.

What I find OTT is how defeats bring about fatalistic resignation, opinions of unstoppable trends that can’t be reversed, views about systemic change in management/ownership  being needed.

I’ll repeat what I said in another thread, 10 games in was always going to be a good barometer.

Indeed. Plymouth lost 2 of their opening 7 games last season, one of which was a 5-1 bumming at Charlton. I wonder if they had as many wrist-slashers as we seem to have at this early stage?
