(also, they got 5,159 as opposed to Wigan's 4,700 so guess that's the last couple of blocks near the scoreboard)

Was there myself, we did our usual of having more of the ball, passing it around a lot and not creating much, but we weren't battered or out played by any stretch

Agreed, miles and miles off them. It was that game that convinced me we weren't going to get any further than an away play off second leg.

Derby hammered us. When the board went up for something like 4 mins and 2-0 down, I just wanted to go home. Only when Sads pulled one back we wanted 8+ mins

I read "Rooney has done his ACL & strained his PCL as well as a bit of damage to the cartilage. Out for the season, at best".

We stayed over that weekend & we spoke to a few Derby that evening who were very hopeful of promotion. 

We were easily beaten and it was that game that made me realise how far off we were last season. 

We actually ended up finishing above them though!!!!

Just goes to show how easily it can happen. One of my lads did both knees before he was 20 and the specialist told me that 95% of folk who do ACLs are prone to hyperextension in their knees - something that can be identified at birth or in a medical before anything happens by checking the natural range of movement. It's affectionately known as "banana knees". If they hyperextend and the knee locks and then get an impact or twist, the ACL pops. Apparently women are more prone to it than men.

They must surely check for banana knees in the medical before a player is signed, but I guess that just identifies that the player is at higher risk of doing his ACL - so not a reason in itself not to sign him. Even so, I'd be upping the insurance

It’s a combination of 3 things for me. We can’t deny the “social media, reality tv type world” we live in now, where you’re only as good as your last moment in time.

That combined with high expectations and the over-critical/expert football fan means defeats are analysed/over analysed to death. 

Wins, consistency, goals, clean sheets are expected. I get it, any deviation from this as a team aiming for the top two, is going to be criticised.

What I find OTT is how defeats bring about fatalistic resignation, opinions of unstoppable trends that can’t be reversed, views about systemic change in management/ownership  being needed. 

I’ll repeat what I said in another thread, 10 games in was always going to be a good barometer.

Indeed. Plymouth lost 2 of their opening 7 games last season, one of which was a 5-1 bumming at Charlton. I wonder if they had as many wrist-slashers as we seem to have at this early stage?

We've have beaten them more easily if they'd had 11 anyway. Wouldn't have put up the drawbridge so readily.
