I meant he was weak in his attempt to come for the ball it wasn't like the Luton player needed to anything but take a slight step backwards, had he launched himself at Traff then I'd have more sympathy for his, in today's football, valid claims but he still needs to be more commanding in his area. I refer back to my previous point though: in days of yore refs would give a free kick for obstruction, where a player blocked another, without necessarily making a "direct foul". They may also not be a great position to make a proper assessment (as a linesman might not be) or his sense of the contact may vary from that of others. When it is seen by var, then perhaps you would expect more consistency. Unfortunately, as we've seen this season, that isn't the case.
