I think it's the dawn of realisation that it's over for him. All downhill from here. Might struggle to cope with it the way he looked last night.

Either that or he had a massive same game double bet on a Portuguese win with him scoring?

It might be best for Portugal when he calls it a day and let's someone else have a shot

However

I doubt that is anytime soon and fully expect to see him at the next world cup

Said on telly box he has scored 1 from 58 in major tournaments.

1 from 62 now.

With players like Fernandez there. It must be very frustrating for the squad. Still a vg player but he genuinely does think it's all about him.

As someone says I think he's mentally unstable.

All that said & done how good, within their limits, were Slovenia !!?? The spirit, teamwork & workrate were astonishing. St. Gareth couldn't even dream of our lot doing that.

You CAN do both at the same time y'know.

Their spirit, energy, organisation was tremendous. If someone did that against us I'd respect it

If our response was to pass the ball along the back-line for 80 minutes then I'd simultaneously criticise that.

yeah, was saying the same thing last night (admittedly to myself)

he's bigger than any manager they might bring in, especially one who isn't Portugese

he'll quit when he's had enough, which as said might be a while

I don't know what's going on in Ronaldo's head but I would hazard a guess at him wanting to be remembered as the GOAT and his alleged rivalry with Messi. Sure he's scoring for fun in Saudi but he although he has scored more than Messi his goals per game ratio is lower and Messi has more trophies.

Plus Messi is nearly two years younger so Ronaldo's desire to win must be on steroids right now knowing that the little Argie will probably keep racking 'em up.

I imagine it will be very hard for him to retire whilst he's ahead.

He's hugely insecure

At the end of last season, he genuinely tried claiming his goalscoring efforts in Saudi Arabia were a greater achievement than Haaland's goals for City

I know somebody on here that’ll agree with that 😉

Maybe it's the Southgate method: stops the opposition from kicking towards their own fans in the second half..

Very Sean Dyche, he loves turnin um round!
