Sat listening to a full end screaming down your lughole all game is bloody horrible. It gives them a kop to kick to. Hope we win the toss and play the other way. Would have thought that was all part of the attraction for folk choosing to sit there, banter with the away fans 🤣 Quote

Will be the biggest gate Wrexham will have played in for a very very long time. It's a cup final for them, but fuck them. Whether there's 15k or 25k it doesn't matter, it's our 4th season in this godforsaken league and we know that every team treat us like a cup final. Its up to the team now to put this so called curse of *big games' behind us. Sick of making excuses for it. They drew 1-1 at Bradford with attendance of 21,552. Quote

Look at last season v Deby away. Win that one game and we go up. I know other things could have happened following that result, but it felt seminal at the time. Tbh boils down to the same thing, we need to do better against the better teams this season. And it's not just treating each game as 3 points, we really have to up our game and match the passion when playing derbies, big crowds, top 6 rivals. Same for Derby- they won it. However if we don't lose other games elsewhere, then it doesn't matter. The season has 46 games. Quote

Rizlar Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Thinking about this game earlier wondering how Santos would cope with Mullin who’s physically a handful but after checking he’s still injured and unavailable for several games . Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Losing 'the big games' isn't down to ability, or luck, but down to mentality. Evatt sends them out scared. We need to have teams worry about us, not us worry about them. Quote

Moderators Zico Posted August 9, 2024 Moderators Posted August 9, 2024 Just seen everyone else kicks off at 12.30 next Saturday, so Sunday 3pm better for me in that respect Seen Stockport got Blackpool away and believe they've been given the full stand so hopefully we get the same Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Won nicely yesterday but the much vaunted, self titled, "massive club" got 13,200 in. Some way below current capacity. The 'kop' is still being built & some want corners filling & the older Yale stand renewing. There's currently local debate about if a 25,000 capacity ground will be enough or if they should build a 50,000 out of towner. Believe me boys, 25k is going to be more than enough. ... & FFP is being ignored rather. Quote

It's 12,600 plus this temporary stand taking it to 13,214 as you say. 2022-23 their average was 9,600. Prior to Ryan & the other one it was around 4,500 (good for National League). Still someway short of justifying the big talk. The Kop, once complete will add 5,500, minus the 600 in the temporary one, so capacity of c.18,000. In their current surge & against bigger teams they can fill that. How long they can maintain all this only time will tell. Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Mind you, apart from Rob Thingy Eva Longaria was in attendance. That could even interest me. Quote

Now it’s not prior to them. people need to not worry about them. They will be in the prem sooner or later and much bigger than us. No shame on it. Only club for miles for Welsh fans Quote

It’s not 1995 now The entire population of North Wales is around 700,000, suggesting you may have a point. However, population and pull are different things. 1. A good number are already wedded to the Liverpool clubs. 2. A much more significant number are wedded to rugby. 3. The geography is vast and, aside from the A55 corridor, the road and rail network is fairly primitive. A fair proportion of this population would face a 3-hour return journey to a Wrexham match. 50,000 crowds may be too much, but there is a certainly more potential. A great example is Brighton. Throughout history they were relatively small club. An injection of money and a recognition they were the club of Sussex, as much as Brighton, has elevated them into the large medium, 30k bracket. i think Wrexham are similar.
