Spoke to a source within the club today.

Massive charm offensive from Evatt yesterday/today, visible in all areas from dusk/dawn.

Some are on-board, but there are others who feel the scapegoating is divisive. IE has surrounded himself with yes men and the two who’ve gone didn’t fit this narrative.

My interpretation- tick tock….Any togetherness that did exist will become in shorter supply as/when results don’t improve.

Aye, I've heard he's been told to be more visible and "present" as well.

Is this a reference to players, staff, or both, out of interest?

Just a thought but didn’t he stare at the start of the season players with only a year on there contracts left will need to prove themselves that they deserve an extension but of an own goal that for player moral ! He really needs to think before he spouts off?

I’d rather not say. I know a wide-range of folk within/close to the club. Because of that I know it won’t come back to an individual.

But with all the guesswork and made up stories going about I thought folk in here would appreciate a little insight so they can continue to keep informed of the on-going situation.

Maybe they're the two we should have kept!

In fairness, there's a big difference between 'not yes-men' (that's healthy within any group) and disloyal devious types who go out of their way to undermine. We've no idea what the reality is - and it's subjective - but in either case I'd have kept them, binned Evatt, and let the next bloke decide if they're any use or not.

One thing we can be reasonably sure of is that we're not shit just because of Craddock and the analyst.

Aye, correct.

I’ve given my interpretation.

I’ve no problem whatsoever if some claim that IEs actions could work and that this will vitalise the squad, simplify the messaging and get the best out of those loyal to him.

And to add, this could still very much be the case and I hope it is and it reaps rewards starting this Saturday.

I'd agree its meant that realistically we're staying in L1 at least 2 years longer than we would have if we'd won that one game.  But the other scenario to consider is how much of a car crash it would have been in the championship under IE, given his record every time we've played a team we aren't able to swat aside with superior football.  Yes maybe a few higher quality signings (Maghoma etc), but the majority of this squad would have stayed together and I'm absolutely certain the crucial WB positions would have been filled inadequately (would we still have signed Schon?).

Assuming he goes soon, at least when we do get up we might have a fighting chance of putting up a fight instead of playing this no wingers, no full backs formation.

Was thinking more like 5 or 6 years tbh.

Most seasons the 3 that come down will be in the mix, last season was a great chance.

Yeah, it's easy to think it would've been a shitshow had we gone up but you could say that whenever we go up.

I still think we had a better football team than Oxford who seem to be making a decent fist of it.

Recruitment would've been vital and tbf, we'd have been fishing in a different pool.

Of course that doesn't mean we'd have got it right .

Its only guesswork but just my opinion that IE would have made a pigs ear of it with his style of football/recruitment.  Oxford are doing well currently (but I'd be surprised if it lasts) because as we know to our cost their manager can make the team stronger than the sum of their parts, the opposite to what we do when we come up against an organised and/or physical or superior team.

So the silver lining for me is that when we do go up, we'll have a manager that will be better suited to the championship.

Probably not.. or

is it coincidence that our form and style of play has declined since Sam Hird left and was replaced by Craddock? 🤷‍♂️

Apparently Craddock was doing the job from when Hird left, but only officially promoted on 10 November.

In his 'caretaker' role we won 5 of 6 league games, 15 points in 6 games.

From his appointment, we won 8 of 12 to end of Jan, 25 points in 12 games.

If he made us shite, it took him a while.

Cheers for sharing.

I genuinely wonder how much more damage he could do.

The moves he’s made aren’t normally associated with unifying a group.

I'm very much reading this as his agent putting his name out there

The headline states he's "in conversation" but the article then reads "he's open to holding talks"

Well, he might be, but there's nothing to suggest we are

Managers in all walks of life have, and always will, surround themselves with people who who are on the same page as them. It's important to ensure everyone is reinforcing the vision of the leadership team to be successful.

If there have been people at the club who don't share his values, or belief, then he's right to f*** em off

Far too many sources from the club with loose lips.

he’s on borrowed time. It’s not going to change. The problems have been building for a while.

If it gets to Spearings uncle leaking team news night before the game levels, we know we're in bother 😃

Can't cope.
