What an absolutely top guy. He couldn't do enough for the kids. He's miles younger than I expected mind. I always imagine kit men to be old fellas for some reason?

Anyway - nice to know we have some fantastic people working at our club. And the players were great with him too!

I'm even more full of love for the club than I've ever been! 👍

His brother is now at Palace

2nd or 3rd choice keeper

Maybe not, but something like Palace

Not sure if it's been said earlier, but the substitution of Charles as soon as we scored the 2nd was ridiculous.

We'd just had two attacks and two goals. Charles must've been thinking he'd score a goal in a minute.

What better way to kill momentum than to make a completely unnecessary change. As was said by the lads I was with, that substitution,  same as they always seem to be, was always going to happen in that minute regardless of whether it was 2-0, 0-2 or 0-0.

Completely disagree. At 2-0 the game should have been won & over, so it made sense to save Charles for Brum, remembering that he'd played in midweek.

Burton scoring made it more nervy than it should have been but had nothing to do with Charles going off.

@DazBob is correct. That sub is made regardless of score. Which makes it a thoughtless sub.

Collins played all game. It can be done. We interrupt players flow and form by continually cut/protect their minutes in my opinion

Surely there's a reason for it though.

Dion just won't be able to manage 90 mins at full rattle then again on Tuesday.

The Arfield thing though is just baffling.

He'd played fof NI midweek, saving his legs for Tuesday.

Shite game but we ground it out.

Young lad had an amazing time as Mascot. If you've got a kid and can afford the (what I think is very expensive) price then go for it. Brilliant experience. Even for to meet Super John and am now the proud owner of a Dan Nlundlu match worn shirt (I'll start the bidding at £100).

Little lads face as is walked out with Dion Charles was worth the money alone.

PS - I don't know what our kit man's called - but he's an absolutely lovely bloke and was brilliant with the kids and let them press their favourite players numbers onto their match shirts for the day. Everyone at the club was a credit. Fantastic day! 👍

Lad did it last year for the Cheltenham game, he gave my lad and the other mascot a training top each, he was brilliant with them. The whole experience was superb.

great to see you had a good day.

I seem to remember he played for our Academy but got injured and, when it became clear his potential football career was over, moved into the kitman game

That’s bollocks pal.

Form doesn’t count against shit opposition 😂

Correct. You should only get 2pts for wins v Burton and 4pts for wins against top-6 teams.

I though the sub was the right move, but the wrong sub.
Charles is clearly first choice, he's been away midweek and will be needed Tuesday. 2-0 should be job done, so take him off. The mistake was not bringing a midfielder on to shore things up.

Probably, but other players do, both for us and clubs all over.

It is just so formulaic, and doesn't seem to consider the state of the game at that moment.

Similar against Shrewsbury; got back to Desmond, but lost some momentum after making the substitutions.

Oh, forgot to sat earlier how good Santos was yesterday.  Lost count of how many crosses into our box he cleared. That last minute interception was quite remarkable too. Looked a guaranteed goal until he stuck a long leg out.

Today was the first time this season that I actually got to see us score and win at home. Before it was 0-0 Wrexham, 0-2 Exeter, then 0-4 Huddersfield. So personally I was just delighted to see us score and win!

The common denominator I found in all of those games and today is we actually start relatively well and positive and look the better side.

And in those games, after 20 minutes or so the tide changes, we don't score, we get frustrated and then that theme usually continues and we likely concede a goal.

We're massively reliant upon momentum I think more so than other teams. When we go ahead we can look unplayable, when we go behind, we hardly ever come back, especially in the big games. This is a big issue under Evatt's tenure.

It was different today, I don't think despite all the doom and gloom of this season we have played that badly in most of our games.

Even the embarrassment of the Huddersfield game, it was very even until they opened the score right before half time then they got a penalty and game over.

I think our downfall mostly is not putting away our chances when we are on top and then making detrimental errors leading to conceding poor goals with no way back.

Unfortunately that's a recipe for disaster.

Today we still saw signs of the same but I'm hoping after our recent improvement in form that we can continue to improve from here.

Because we really need to, as our real test starts on Tuesday night.

I think most of us fans won't be swayed over until we start to see us perform in the bigger games and they're coming.

In a way, I think the next 5/6 league games will define Evatt's legacy.

Birmingham away

Peterborough home

Stevenage away

Stockport away

Rotherham away

Blackpool home

think Rotherham will be moved as international week, so the 6th is Cambridge away, takes us up to end of Nov

That’s how I saw it, too. Charles was virtually heading off as soon as the ball hit the net so it very much smacked of a previous arrangement that he’d go off as soon we were a couple of goals clear.

Yeah got injured so the club gave him a job, he shot through his time in the kit room, the 2 senior bods retired and left for pastures new leaving him as the top man.

His ball for our disallowed goal was a fucking peach too.

Looks like cogley is making a bid for scapegoat gold these days so a shame that his interception and through ball on the highlights gets forgotten cos collins ballsed it up

Only seen their goal replayed once, and there is some poor defending initially.

Not sure that the last bit by Cogley is worthy of any criticism.

He's a tad unfortunate with that last gasp clearance, and some acknowledgement must be given to the forward for following in.

It’s a tough one. He had only a split second to react and we don’t know what shout he got (if any) from the keeper or elsewhere. I do feel though the safety first option here is to put it behind for a corner, if you see someone in your peripheral vision (or if you can’t see what’s to your left).

So it was Cogley at fault, not the fact we let someone run through our entire half unmarked and then failed to get a foot in whilst he wandered into the penalty area! Righto

The build up was a comedy of errors. Should never have ended up with Cogley making a clearance.

Was the drenching the kids got by the sprinklers before the match and intentional part of the experience...? Kids all seemed to find it funny enough

Well, yeah. Lots of bad defending all round, but the final clearance required was as basic as it gets. To hit it at the attacker is the kind of mistake I've just seen at my lad's under 8 match today

Have to disagree.

If he can see the attacker then fair enough.

Only he knows whether he could.
