I suppose it comes down to what clubs feel they can afford. Seems the smaller grounds often don't have it. appears only 4 teams in our league have it! Us, Birmingham, Reading and Huddersfield 11 teams in the Championship Sunderland, Hillsborough, Elland Rd, Riverside, Pride Park, Coventry, Ewood, Stoke, Norwich, Loftus road and Swansea Premiership 14 have undersoil. West ham (council stadium), St james Park, Brighton, Wolves, Selhurst park, and Bournemouth all don't have undersoil heating. I'm procrastinating here as I really don't want to plan my next batch of lessons Quote

jayjayoghani Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Didn't ours fail once when Allardyce was manager? Suspiciously coinciding with a bad injury list. Quote

Cardiff in the cup was due to snow / ice on the surrounding area. I got paid to put inserts in the programmes with the updated league tables. the replay they brought all their mentalists up and a load got lifted for going on the pitch if I remember right Quote
marple whites Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Spoke to someone at work who is a Rotherham season ticket holder. The pitch is Australian grass that is grown in Florida. The pitch is never in a bad state so won’t be the pitch that gets the game called off. will be surrounding areas that aren’t really thawing. also, point to note, the train station was shut on Monday due to flooding - at worst get off at meadow hall and taxi it. gonzo Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Australian grass that's grown in Florida. Well I'll be damned. Quote

This will be off as looking at the weather forecast the pitch will be frozen unless they have a cover for it. It seems they have. https://www.themillers.co.uk/news/2025/january/08/read---millers-enlist-services-of-pitch-protection-experts-ss-stadia-ahead-of-saturday-s-hosting-of-bolton/ Edited January 8 by freds dad Quote

Farnywhite Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Not to bothered if it’s off might suit us we’re playing sat and midweek all month on the back of 4 games in 9 days over Xmas and then Only 4 games in the whole of feb to play Quote

But a week since Exeter. Squad rotation in EFL cup, should be more than fine. And if this much warranted run ever materialises, now has to be the time on the back of a win with confidence. Much better for fans too on a Saturday after already being rearranged twice. Get it played. Edited January 8 by desperado Quote
