The term ‘legend’ is banded about when talking about former decent players. Here is a real legend of Bolton Wanderers. 

RIP Ruth. Put in some yards for the whites.

First met and spoke to her in the mid 80s on route to another away game where we'd be coming home empty handed as we usually did in those days.  Her loyalty, with home crowds then around 4000, astounded me then but in retrospect attending all those games over those years is truly incredible. Hopefully the club will pay tribute to her and Charlie before today's game.

RIP to a true Wanderer.

Sad news. Remember first seeing her at grounds when I was a kid in the late 70s.  An absolute bedrock of our football club and a reminder that the relationships between clubs, towns and fans is far more important than managers and players who are merely passing through.  RIP Ruth. Would be great if we could put in a decent performance today.

I’ve both bought from and sold programmes to Ruth. She knew the story behind each programme and you couldn’t just get away without hearing that story.

RIP Ruth - a true legend of BWFC

Absolute legend, first spoke to her in the early 80s and saw her or chatted briefly so many times. 

Last time I saw her was Aug 2018 coming away from WBA (in wheelchair) after we'd just scored a last minute winner.

Incredible innings, and absolute off the scale dedication to this club of ours.

My first memory of Ruth was selling programmes at reserve games at Leigh (which I found out in later years were a DIY effort which must have taken an incredible amount of work to dig out the info)

Aye , reminds me of Florence Brandwood that was at the club longer than Ive lived.  Dave Higson always tried to get her on't videos.

Amazing fan, there cannot be any other fan of any club do the hard miles in support of their club. RIP a true BWFC legend.

Almost feels as seismic as when we lost Nat. One of the fixtures and fittings of the club - the thought of her not being there any more is beyond sad.

RIP Ruth. We all feel it but you felt it more than anyone.
