2025 Holidays

Reet. Where’s everyone off to?

Ive got Dom Rep for 10 days on 3rd Jan and a North American/Canadian Cruise in September courtesy of Traf Tours

Looking at some short breaks as well. Malaga definitely but maybe Scotchland Isles? Italy?

    Flying the Wanderers flag

  • Thanks, A. It's true, though and I am surprised/a little disappointed that we don't pick up more enquiries (never mind bookings) from WW members. If you're booking directly with Jet2, Easyje

5 day break booked to Palma in July before the schools finish and everywhere is overrun with rugrats

Mrs found us a decent break via Jet2

Sent it to @Traf who got us a better deal, with better flights, and private transfers. What’s not to like?

I’m off to Riga in September, anyone been? Not a clue what to expect, although been told to stick to city centre where they are tourist friendly. Not so much in the sticks apparently.

A mate of mine went for a week last year. He was expecting it to be like Prague, but he said it was a shithole and there was fuck all to do.

We're there in October, been twice before, town centre is good for bars etc, locals very friendly, some of the most stunning women in Eastern Europe, ended up watching Latvia V Turkey last time we went, it's a typical Eastern European capital, cheap, cheerful and friendly

it's decent enough to go on the lash for a couple of days, went on a jolly with the lads around 2005, cheap and cheerful back then

no need to head out the centre, we got told folk were less friendly on the other side of the bridge (the russian side, basically)

there's some statues and a couple of nice buildings, but not much else

they do tours out of the centre where you can go shooting and stuff, like stag do type activities

when we were there in feb/march the river had frozen over so went dicking about on that for a bit

saw there was a market on, was expecting somethign traditional, but it was a proper shite market like you'd expect in some shit hole town over here

loads of fit birds, all hanging around with fat blokes

reason being, fat blokes have money and are therefore able to eat lots of food, so women find it attractive

The Occupation Museum is worth a visit.....

Just spent a few days in Kotor,  Montenegro for the other half’s 40th.  What a stunning place. Absolutely bewdiful. Anyone wanting brownie points off their missus then get this place booked for a weekend.

Cheers for the Riga info. Steejay has sent me a DM and it sounds decent tbh. He’s sending me a book, good lad. It’s me and 5 mates on a 50th birthday day trip (3 nights)

Well that's a different kettle of fish. 6 blokes on the piss will have a whale of a time regardless of the scenery and local culture. My mate who had a shit time went with his fiancé.

Great little bar we go in whenever we stay in Costa Teguise (mate's auntie looks after some apartments in Playa Bastian complex so we usually get sorted with one). A few decent little places round that area, Crown bar, next to Las Coronas, always good for football, Restaurant Sausalito really decent food (just at top of the road that runs through Playa Bastian).

If you're booking directly with Jet2, Easyjet Holidays, TUI etc, they won't beat us on price and they certainly don't get near us for service. We do the admin, we check you in, we generate all your docs etc, our private transfers are cheaper and more reliable than theirs, we're easier to get hold of if there's an issue before, during and after your trip etc etc

And, if nothing else, you'd be supporting a small business.

I tell my mrs every time

she likes to scour airbnb, then find a flight that fits

I tell her to note down all the details and pass them on to you to sort the flights and transfers

she gets impatient / anxious when it says "4 seats left" or "10 people looking at this right now" and then goes ahead and books it herself

she's a control freak, basically

I didn't think that people still fell for that trick.

Exactly the same as my Mrs used to be. Once we’d done a few Traf tours she sources the holidays and hands them to me or goes to Traf directly now
