Ive got Dom Rep for 10 days on 3rd Jan and a North American/Canadian Cruise in September courtesy of Traf Tours

Looking at some short breaks as well. Malaga definitely but maybe Scotchland Isles? Italy?

When the fuck did people start forming one single-file queue at a bar? It's massive, long bar, with at least 3 barstaff on, and everyone queues at the one on the right like they're at Alton Towers?!? The scutters have a proper hissy fit if you approach the bar like a person who hasn't lost their fucking mind.

I asked the barmaid when they brought this system in, and she said they didn't - it isn't a rule or anything, it just started happening.

I’ve seen this happening in Spoons Howfen might be 6 in queue line but there will be another 6 just waiting at the bar. Bizarre but think it’s stopped now after it’s been pointed out that they don’t need to line up.

Seen this in the Whites Hotel. Not on my fucking watch. Self-appointed folk stood there actually enforcing it.

Why is forming an orderly queue wrong? We do it at most other retail outlets.
At least people then get served in turn, rather than because their mate works behind the bar?

Have to agree. The queuing system was one of the best things about Yates Wine Lodge back in the day.

Its a bit off putting but so is a 5 deep bar

5 deep at the bar is fine as long as the barman / barmaid is a good one who knows who rocked up when. These days unfortunately, more often than not it tends to be someone with no awareness going who's next..

was at a Haven myself last week, same thing there

works for me

I don't want to be at a crowded bar jostling for position trying to grab the attention of barstaff or hoping the person next to me understands I was there first and should let me get served before them

stand in line till a person becomes available then move to that part of the bar

I'd like to see it adopted nationwide

can't help thinking it's a post covid thing

Lets get back to TABLE service 

I think I would probably murder someone if I was exposed to a Haven "holiday" 😃

Very much so. George in Leigh started doing it in Covid and stuck with it. Everyone knows where they stand and works well with the shape of the bar. Fucking ridiculous when folk do it with a huge bar to go at, mind.

Just home after 10 days in Albufeira, our annual trip, a combined age of 650 years between 9 of us, from 53 - 85, got warmer each day, 38 degrees yesterday

Just back from a look at Albania. Good hotels , very good & cheap meals & booze including Raki, & surprisingly, though most of the Albanians look hard as fuck,we found that  if you act sensibly they are really friendly & helpful & seemed genuinely pleased that you are there !!!

I,d guess that tourists are still a novelty to them especially off the beaten track in Tirana.

Not for everyone, but we really liked it.

Went to Tirana a couple of years ago and loved it.

Its just greece really

North Yorkshire & Northumberland are great places, definitely #1 choice for me if going away in the UK

Alcudia next weekend with the kids and mother. I’m gonna have to get a retractable lead for the 3 year old. He’s feral with no fear.

Right at the top of the hill there is a campsite ... across the road from that is a farm. My Mrs Aunties place.

Walking back up that hill after sinking pints in Wainwright's Bar isn't much fun 🙂

When my kids were youngsters, about 20 years ago, we used to go to Puerto Pollensa in Majorca, loved the place, I remember people used to call Alcudia "Pram City" don't know whether it's still the case.
