Felt kind of unifying in the stand yesterday.

Stood with mates I've known 20+ years, my Dad and Peteski, my son and folk I've been sat with for decades, we've all hugged and kissed at some point.

All still there, all turning out. Thick and thin and all that. Seen all the highs together and now stood there totally beleaguered, pissed off, freezing, watching a manager cling for his life in a silent stadium with players no longer responding to him.

Just made me realise, we've all been there long before Ian Evatt and this current cluster fuck, and we will all be there long after.

There's no point getting angry. Just stay on the ride and hope for sunnier times.

Bang on mate

Just because kacha scored doesn't make him good lol. He's playing for second bottom of the league and scores every 9 games .

He's got a 1 in 4 record in the league this season, (21 games 5 goals)

Put's him as prolific as McAtee and Collins who are 1 in 4 in the league

Plus he made us look like school kids yesterday..

Similar to how we feel, the 4 of us (3 away games we will have been to this month), looked at the team sheet, with a groan (knowing that he won't change the set up, but always a glimmer of hope), Evatt came out looking like he's on a night out,

Spotting possibly the leagues shittest ref, (Kachunga and Charles Mix up, then Charles and Evatt reds),

Still, sat through the game, (at times switching off and going on my phone)

But that's what we do, if we wanted glory we would all been Man U fans (well not now), or city fans, or Liverpool fans, or more recently Stockport fans..

Attendance was well down yesterday on what it was, and I think that will continue, but without wanting to sound like a broken record... We nearly didn't have any of this,

2 crap goals given away.

thought Schon, new Randell and Morley did ok.

sheehan and tutu did ok when they came on.

Cambridge haven’t won away all season and lost last 5

felt sorry for them at the end.

we deserved nothing.

thought crowd were well behaved for the most part given what was served up.

evatt going no where until the end of the season.

21 more games to endure……

As soon as promotion (including play offs)are impossible he's gone

Should be potted now imo but he won't be

Auto spot looks too much now but play off 6th place I reckon will be up for grabs till last game so he's here till season ends it's just frustrating that if we had our act together this season we would have definitely been in the mix for autos

The problem with that 69 is that we’ll be on the fringe of promotion for the whole season if we stick with Evatt. If we seriously want it this year the board have to act now because there’s still more than enough time for a new manager, a new voice and a new system to make the play offs with this squad. Of course Sharon may have already conceded we won’t make it this year looking at some of the fixtures coming up so she probably concludes that financially it’s best to stick with what she’s got and give Evatt every chance. She holds the purse strings so she makes the choices. Wrong ones for me but they’re hers to make whatever we think.

Sounds like the boy Moores had several considered strengths, where just one would make him better than Victor?

In Spring we've got Stockport (h), Wigan (a), Blackpool (a). I don't see results in any of those given how spineless we are. That'll take toxicity up even further. That's when the axe is likeliest to fall.

It's just ridiculous that they're waiting on promotion being mathematically impossible to then get rid of him. Just wasting everybody's time.

Are the board willing to let this toxicity carry on and keep pushing away the fans, undoing all the hard work they put in the first place, just for the sake of one man?

Early bird renewals will be in a few weeks time and they need to be planning on a substantial reduction in renewals from supporters, which will hit accounts hard.

Folk this time last year had a high confidence in us playing Championship football. Okay that didn't happen, but it's not like we are competing like last year, we are so so far off it.

There's a dark cloud hanging over the football club at the minute and that is Ian Evatt. Until he's gone, we won't see the sunshine sadly.

Spot on going to the game as become a chore the football is awful to watch and Bolton fans arguing amongst themselves is not nice to see we are going nowhere with Evatt in charge and if this poor form continues we will finish in the bottom half of the table.
The players also need to take some responsibility they are unable to do the basic things change needs to happen now .

lowlights- what a save by their keeper btw. on its own, its a cracking move

Yes, a good save that, unlucky.

I suspected at the time McAtee was offside for the 1st and pausing it as Schon crosses suggests he was.

The OG by their player was worse than I thought at the time, I assumed he was under a load of pressure from us, but even though it was a good move, that was bad defending too.

Also downgrading the Southwood error from dreadful to poor, it wasn't the easiest ball to deal with on 2nd viewing, but he should have done better.

Santos shocking for the 2nd but general namby pamby defending all over the show for that goal, including JDC again giving it away cheaply.

Course you can count Moores or anyone else (I wasn't around to see your namesake).

Moores was poor for us, Vic is a worse footballer IMO.  Just opinions, no right or wrong.

Paul Comstive gets a load of mentions for being shit, I thought he was OK for us for the standard of the time, but everyone sees it different, all good 👍

Mate sits in WSU right in line and he messaged me straight away saying it was offside and the lino was miles behind play

Unfortunately I can still see that Paul Comstive miss at Wembley.... not the best way to remember a decent player, he died very young

Good post.

I thought something similar, during the game and in the ESL concourse at H-T, all the familiar faces, folk I've "known" (but not known) since the 80s and 90s, just going through the motions.

But also plenty not there that I know would be there if there was something to get behind.

So whilst I agree there's no point getting angry if we're just looking at the long term, there is justified anger that we're stuck with this for god knows how long.  We have owners that don't sack a manager when he under performs (on and off the pitch - given the mounting list of verbal and physical misdemeanors).  This could go on for any amount of time, we'll carry on turning up if we can but its a hollow feel, lacking any highs even if we do win.

Yes sadly he did, 2013 aged 52.

If we based our player ratings on Wembley appearances DeFreitas would be right up there!

Strange similarity between the Holdsworth Wembley miss and the Comstive one, same end as well.

My best memory of Comstive was him scoring the winner at Watford in 2nd leg of a league cup tie, at the time it was our best "giant killing" for years!  Won AET, about 1k of us stood behind the goal he scored in.

The run of games in March might bring the moment of truth closer

Simon Rudge???..... And I'm only judging them in a Bolton shirt not how many they scored elsewhere. Nigel Jemson an Robert Fleck were better than either but were absolutely gash for us.

That was a great day on the piss and a very unexpected win.
