A lot of positives from today;

Goalie look very good with his feet. Didn't have a save to make.

Cogley and Taylor great drive and energy. Forino dominant. Johnston average but lacks pace.

Simons/Morley very comfortable. McAtee more energy

Both wingers a real handful. Striker required for them to target.

Big dave, rubbish, but I'm told that's harsh, we'll see?

Randall and sheehan may relish competition in midfield. Don't know where dempsey fit in?

Moving Santos and GT on for good money, must be invested in a top, top striker. I don't think either of Santos or GT are good enough for championship. Albeit, we're leaving it late, I trust fergal to recruit the 20+ goals a season man that could get us up.

Fingers crossed with early injuries.

Interesting words from SS about Taylor's injury.

'He left the pitch of his own volition and Schumacher is hopeful that the problem will not be a serious one.

“I just asked him as I walked off then: ‘What are you thinking?’ He said he just felt a little tightness in his adductor. He said that it was merely a precaution to come off.

“He said he thinks he'll be okay. But with these things, you never know until next week.'

Almost reads like HE felt the tweak & came off on his own account. In many ways quite admirable ... though a bit anarchic. Anyway, time will tell but doesn't sound too horrid. 🤞

I like what he says about getting it forward quicker, with fewer touches

Slow build up play was one of our biggest issues last season

But Warren now "non-contact" for a few weeks 🙃

I didn't see today but based on what I saw of him last season he was rubbish and don't expect much to have changed

Hopefully nowhere near the squad by the start of the season

Oh dear. Coz Leith is a place of beauty. I'd not walk 500 miles to get there.

I'm told allowances should be given because he's only 18 and he is thrust into playing due to shortages and injuries. Might be a lovely lad n all that but he's a professional footballer. And by definition, we can witness his skills. Based on that evidence, for me he's sub standard for the role.

We did look like a bunch of fannies singing fck the pope to be fair. Think the lads got a point 😂

Good atmosphere & turnout though

Sergeant esco here @Casino

Most enjoyable day out and good to catch up with a few off here  notably @little whitt @London Wandererand especially @victor meldrew

Absolutely smashed by 6pm and bundled in a car home thankfully

decent performance considering they are supposedly 2/3 weeks ahead of us preseason wise

special note for those who Made the journey up, who came and did the town of Bolton proud  but essentially did whatever we wanted but with decorum

see some of you at some point this season at a game

adios for now I'm back to file my report

I think it's daft anyone thought he'd be a part of the first-team picture this season

Let him go out on loan and develop himself over the next year or two

It's very early, but im happy these new wingers look as if they know what they're doing.  Our lot looked like they needed guide dogs last season.

While Dalby's out and we haven't a new bloke to showcase it's perfectly reasonable to have Dave in the side for at least some minutes, so he can gain experience and learn against decent first team pros. I'm sure he'll either go back to the B team and bang plenty of goals in or be sent out to National League or similar to get more games against experienced pros under his belt.

He's very raw, nowhere near regular L1 action yet but does have a bit of something about him and SS likes him, he'll have learned and taken plenty from today

In a year or two, he'll be way down the food chain

Probably, but the point still stands

Just back & as enjoyable as it was, i;m not getting carried away, Hibs were hopeless & below Div 1 standard on that showing'

but that said, our new keeper & defence were very solid, with Cogley the stand out & i hope Taylor isn't badly injured, he played well, Simons was good again & though i've criticised him before, McAtee played well & worked hard.

The wingers were hit & miss & Big Dave & Lawrence don't look ready for 1st team football & could probably do with going out on loan playing man's football, maybe National league level.

😂

Good to see you again pal. Looking younger than the last time.

Hope you’re feeling fresh again tomorrow. Just took the Mrs out for a birthday meal at Barry Fish, highly recommend if you’ve not been.

Great to meet you @little whitt & @athywhite1958. Safe travels back.

Good performance today. Looking promising for next season but I’d be worried if we’ve not got another striker. Wouldn’t mind a Thomo replacement either.

2 countries and 2 wins in a week.

happy times

Way below national league level. Don’t want to be harsh but amimbola looks like he’s never played football before

Anyone got the goals available via a link?

Can't find them yet.

WTF is that commentary?

Cheers for the goal.

Feel a bit for the lad, as it is going to be difficult for him to top that this season! 😁

More from the Hibs fans forum…..

Fuck Bolton. I started the game giving their fans and club the benefit of the doubt. They mixed with us, brought a good St Mirren sized support, sniffed around the club shop then gave us all that royalist, onionist, englandshire, fuck the Pope, Scotland get battered shite. Their wee right winger (go figure) from Arsenal scored a great goal. So fucking what, your fans are stupid, ignorant, rule britannia *&*^. I hope you get relegated and go bust again you bunch of fucking fat, poorly dressed, Peter Kay, Phoenix Club carpet licking fannies. Next time you want to batter Scotland, let us know before hand, you shiting *&*^.
